Flowers have always aroused awe and admiration in people. Beautiful legends, songs and poems were written about them, and various signs and beliefs were associated with flowers. There was a time when “earthly butterflies” were given only to nobles and royalty, and some types of flowers were so expensive that just one bud could buy an entire city. It is not surprising that these delicate creations of nature began to decorate various festivals. And the wedding, of course, too.
It is still difficult for us to imagine a wedding day without a sea of fragrant flowers. Knowing the days of ceremonial registrations at the registry office, flower sellers make up huge expensive bouquets, most often roses, and move closer to the wedding palaces. Those invited to the celebration consider it their duty to stop and leave a good part of the contents of their wallets to the flower merchants. But is such a gift really obligatory?
- Who needs flowers at a wedding?
- Pros and cons of a flower gift.
- What to replace the bouquet with.
Flowers for a wedding bouquet
Roses are rightfully considered the most popular wedding flowers.
It is believed that these luxurious flowers can best express the feeling that guests would like to convey to the young. However, there are some features when choosing the shade, quantity and design of flowers that will be acceptable for such a celebration. The rose has always been a symbol of love and admiration. However, for a wedding ceremony it is better to choose pastel shades of petals - pink, white, ivory, yellow. This palette is very consonant with the general color scheme of the bride’s wedding dress, and the semantic load will be gentle and neutral - a wish for wealth, an emphasis on the tenderness and chastity of the bride, a union sealed with love. You should not choose red shades of buds, as this is a declaration of passionate and fiery love; this may be inappropriate for a gift to a girl at her own wedding.
Florists will help not only with the choice of plants, but also with the design of such a gift. A lush, elegant bouquet should not only be catchy, but also stylish. Accessories and special decoration will help with this, adding solemnity and beauty to the wedding bouquet.
Don’t think that the bride will be with this bouquet throughout the wedding. For these purposes, a special small wedding bouquet is created to match the outfit. And they order it on the eve of the wedding. Therefore, you should not be upset that your bouquet, chosen with such love, is sent to everyone else in the common pile.
It is also important how many roses are given for a wedding. You can buy a huge bouquet of tall roses, but how to give such a gift? It must be remembered that the bride’s outfit (namely, all invited guests give flowers to her) is very thin, and it can easily be torn by rose thorns if the material touches
That is why it is advisable to remove thorns on roses in advance. You should also consider the weight of such a gift. A large bouquet weighs a lot, and fragile girlish hands will not be able to hold such a composition for long.
One luxurious rose is also not usually given at such a special event. But a composition of 5-9 roses will come in handy. A decoration and additional semantic load for such a bouquet will be decorating the composition with branches and plants. Blooming jasmine and honeysuckle, according to professional florists, will bring good luck to the young and many happy years of life together.
How else can you convey your wishes with the help of jewelry if the color and number of buds have already been chosen:
- In ancient times, newlyweds were given small branches of oak or birch, thereby wishing the young family healthy children, as well as good luck in any endeavor. Even today, similar decorations in the form of fern branches and monsteras complement the composition and give it a more refined and finished look.
- To make the composition exclusive, florists offer to create a “talking bouquet”. Inscriptions on the petals with wishes for a happy family life, photographs of young newlyweds and images of hearts and cupids make the floral gift elegant and unusual.
- In addition, “fireflies”—built-in LED lights inside the bud—will help add some spice. This will not affect the condition of the rose in any way, since the bulbs are in special caps that do not allow the bud to heat up. And the glow of the rose itself, highlighting the inscriptions on the petals will help make the bouquet exclusive and original.
- Packing with packaging material is used if there is a need for it, but if it can be done without it, then it is removed before presenting the flowers to the bride.
Another option for designing a composition is a basket or hat box. This form of packaging will greatly simplify the task for wedding organizers. The fact is that for such a gift you don’t need to look for a vase or other vessel with water to put fresh flowers in it. A sponge soaked in water is placed at the bottom of the basket, which allows the flowers to retain their freshness and brightness for a long time.
In this case, the question is resolved: how many roses should I give for a wedding? With the number of buds in the composition, you can play with the size of the basket itself. Too bulky and voluminous will be out of place, but a medium-sized basket can beautifully accommodate from seven to eleven roses. It is best to prepare such a present the day before, especially since these plants will definitely not wither and will look great on the wedding day.
Ideas for parents
As a sign of respect, the groom's parents should give the bride a beautiful bouquet of flowers. There is no fundamental significance in the choice of composition - you can choose what you visually liked at first glance.
But if the groom’s parents are confused and can’t find the right option, then it’s worth considering classic bouquets. Roses have always been in fashion, they are delicate and incredibly beautiful, so they should be considered as a gift option.
It is not at all necessary to choose white flowers - pink or cream ones look no less festive. By diluting the composition with green branches and small decorative elements, you can make the bouquet even more interesting.
To show the girl that she is welcome and accepted with good feelings, you can complement the flower arrangement with a decorative sign that says: “Dear daughter-in-law” or something like that.
Other flowers in a wedding bouquet
What other flowers can you congratulate the newlyweds on such a solemn day? We list plants that can emphasize the importance of such an event:
- Lilies are touching and beautiful representatives of nature. These plants deservedly take pride of place among wedding flowers. Delicate white and pastel colors make the lily stand out among other flora gifts. To prevent pollen from staining the bride's outfit, the stamens are removed in advance. But, giving preference to this luxurious flower, it is worth considering that many varieties of lilies have a rich aroma, and if the room in which the bouquet is located is not ventilated, some guests may get a headache.
- Callas are majestic and austere flowers, frequent guests in brides' wedding bouquets. The personification of a strong family union, youth and virtue. It is believed that these magical gifts of nature are a talisman for newlyweds, a talisman for their happy family life. According to legends, under the influence of this plant a person makes the only right decisions.
- Lilies of the valley are delicate, tiny bells with a delicate aroma. There are no negative legends about these flowers in any culture in the world; they are revered in all countries. It is a symbol of sincerity, purity and fidelity. In the hands of the bride, such a bouquet looks very cute.
Although, it doesn’t matter at all what flowers relatives and friends choose as a gift. The main thing is to choose and give them with love and kind feeling, wishing from the heart happiness, love and prosperity
Suitable compositions for the bride and groom
A gift bouquet from the bride's parents should be delicate, in pastel colors. It would be great if flowers that your daughter loves or plants that evoke pleasant associations from childhood are used. The price of the bouquet is definitely not the main thing. It is very important that the composition makes an impression, and for this it is not at all necessary to buy all the most elaborate and expensive things.
Flowers from the groom's parent should demonstrate kindness, goodwill and willingness to accept the daughter-in-law as their own daughter. This is important: with the help of a bouquet you can say a lot without uttering a single word.
Unusual bouquets for a wedding celebration
Stand out from the crowd of guests and give the newlyweds something original for their wedding, pay attention to those made not from flowers, but from other things
- A valuable and cheerful gift is a lush bouquet made of banknotes. Clearly will receive special attention and will be preserved young. Origami lovers and experts, try your hand at folding money flowers from banknotes. Money tulips made from hundredth or thousandth bills look good.
- It's nice to give something delicious as a wedding gift. Order a bouquet of chocolates in the salon. A luxurious bouquet of sweets for a wedding is almost no different from a traditional floral bouquet. The gift will definitely not wither - the newlyweds will take it on their honeymoon; the taste of chocolate will diversify the pleasures of the honeymoon. Choose a wedding gift, giving free rein to your imagination.
- Master confectioners offer caramel bouquets or baskets with caramel flowers as gifts for newlyweds or their parents. A luxurious gift will last for a long time, and with its sweetness it will smooth out possible roughness in the relationship between young spouses.
- A gift from a friend in the form of an inexpensive bouquet of soft toys looks great. Charming plush animals framed with lace and ribbons evoke a storm of emotions among newlyweds. Toys serve a dual role. On the one hand, they remind the bride and groom that their wedding is a kind of farewell to childhood, a transition to a new social status of adults and responsible people. On the other hand, bear cubs, dogs and baby dolls anticipate the future addition to a young family. Soft animals will be the first toys of a baby who will appear in a young family.
- Lush bouquets in a basket or compositions on a stand look impressive. Bouquets as a wedding gift force the heroes of the occasion to fuss in search of suitable containers for fresh flowers. Without water, plants lose their marketable appearance, wither and die. A composition on a stand or a basket of flowers can be easily installed anywhere in the banquet hall and does not require placement in water. Florists use flower sponges that are saturated with moisture. Flowers in a basket remain fresh for a long time without requiring special care.
It is difficult to limit the flight of fancy of florist designers. The bride can flaunt with a round bouquet, the stem of which is covered with ribbons, lace, corset, rhinestones or precious stones. Tightly assembled, it will easily withstand a wedding ceremony and a fateful flight into a crowd of girlfriends eager to celebrate their own wedding.
For convenience, it can be made in the form of an elegant flower handbag or an elegant fan. Bouquets-bracelets are convenient, which you can easily put on your hand and not think every minute about the safety of the accessory.
From colleagues and friends
For guests invited to the wedding of a colleague or distant relative, it will be quite enough to limit themselves to an ordinary bouquet and general requirements for the composition. There is no need to think through an original design; in this case, flowers are a symbol of respect and wishes for happiness. The bouquet will take its place among other donated flowers, and this will also become a kind of contribution and symbolism.
After all, the entire wedding flower garden symbolizes the prosperity and abundance of a young family, so the more flowers, the better.
Close friends of the groom and bridesmaids are the circle closest to the newlyweds. From them the young couple receives attention and support on this day; they become the ringleaders of the holiday, its most active participants. Bouquets from friends are filled with special meanings, like encrypted messages and unspoken assurances of sincere friendship.

For loved ones, choosing the appropriate option will not be difficult, taking into account the preferences of the newlyweds. The groom's friends can inquire in advance about the tastes of a friend's bride, and at the wedding please her with their “guess.” It is even easier for the bridesmaids to decide on a bouquet - these can be flowers that match the wedding dress or the style of the banquet hall.
Practical tips
You should not pay too much attention to the symbolic meaning of this or that type of flower. Just as one should not attribute a secret intent to those guests who presented bouquets of plants that supposedly symbolize not the best wishes
It is important to remember that any gift is an expression of attention, love and sincere affection. Therefore, he deserves the same sincere gratitude
Sometimes you shouldn’t limit your guests in choosing a palette. Moms and dads should not think about what flowers the parents of the bride and groom give for the wedding. Let them choose their own expression of their feelings with a bouquet of their own choosing. By applying these tips, you can make the right decision, thereby answering the question of what flowers to give to newlyweds for a wedding.

We wish you good health!
In addition to love for the bride and groom, from now on they wish health to the husband and wife. And not only for them, but also for future children. This wish is symbolized by asters, dahlias, freesias and tulips. You can make a bouquet based on seasonality, for example, give tulips in the spring, and asters for a wedding in August. Or mix flowers to create a beautiful mix. By complementing the main flowers with greenery and decorations, you can make an original bouquet. Don’t limit yourself and be afraid of “ridiculous” combinations. For example, one luxurious dahlia is easily complemented by daisies and jasmine sprigs. Wildflowers are also given to the bride as wishes for the health of the newly born family.
What flowers should not be given for a wedding?
There are signs according to which some flowers cannot be given to newlyweds for a wedding. The following cannot be presented to the bride and groom:
- potted plants - this promises the couple infertility and poverty;
- yellow flowers - this shade symbolizes separation;
- callas or chrysanthemums - they are considered a symbol of death;
- carnations - although in the language of flowers they mean fidelity, among Russians the plant is more associated with revolutionary demonstrations or funerals.
Scarlet roses, especially those presented to the bride or groom by a representative of the opposite sex, would not be the best choice. Flowers with thorns cannot be presented either.
Choosing flowers for a bouquet for young people
It is customary to give different flower arrangements for a wedding. They should be different in their appearance and not resemble the everyday bouquets that are presented to girls on dates or for their birthdays.
Each plant symbolizes a certain feeling, emotion and relationship between a person and a couple.
Therefore, it is very important to take these points into account during the selection process, especially if you do not want to harm the newlyweds. In the modern world there are a huge number of varieties of ornamental plants
Some are great for any event, while others are used exclusively for a specific holiday. Let's figure out what flowers are best to give for a wedding from parents and guests?
In the modern world there are a huge number of varieties of ornamental plants. Some are great for any event, while others are used exclusively for a specific holiday. Let's figure out what flowers are best to give for a wedding from parents and guests?
Roses
These plants have a huge number of colors; they can be red, black, blue, white and any other tones. Most often, the rose is a symbol of love and passion. White varieties allow you to emphasize a tender and reverent attitude towards future spouses. And red symbolizes love and openness.
If you decide to give a couple a bouquet of roses on their wedding day, it is better to dilute them with other varieties of plants or decorative twigs. Today, florist shops provide the opportunity to choose a composition for every color and taste.
Lilies
This flower is considered refined and aristocratic. It is a symbol of tenderness and at the same time masculine strength. It is also believed that it will bring fertility to family life. But it is worth remembering that this flower has a strong aroma and the couple may be allergic to them.
Therefore, before giving a composition from these plants, you need to make sure there is no negative reaction.
Bridal bouquets are often made with lilies, which help emphasize her tenderness and readiness for family life. There are also many signs and superstitions associated with this plant that have survived to this day. You can combine lilies with absolutely any other plants.
Orchids
This plant is expensive and very refined.
It is most often used as a small gift on a wedding day. The main advantage of the flower is that it has a wide range. Therefore, you will easily be able to please the couple. It is not recommended to give a plant in a pot. It is better to contact a florist and ask him to create an unusual composition that can truly surprise the bride and groom.
Orchids have a pleasant aroma and beautiful appearance. If desired, they can be combined with other plants or simply use different tones. You can really complement the bouquet with floral ribbons, which will add some zest to the bouquet.
The color scheme also plays a very important role.
Each shade has its own meaning, for example:
- Red is the color of love and passion.
- White – tenderness and confidence.
- Yellow – separation and disappointment.
Therefore, it is very important to take this point into account when choosing a bouquet. After all, the wrong shade can bring discord to the family.
Color spectrum
There are no strict requirements for nature’s floral gifts - each flower is beautiful in its own way, and everyone has different tastes. But it is not customary to give flowers in dark shades for a wedding, no matter how chic they may seem. According to wedding tradition, the dominant color at the celebration is white. It symbolizes the purity of thoughts and tender feelings of the newlyweds.
The exception is exclusive weddings where an original style or a specific color is planned. For example, an informal wedding in a Gothic style, a wedding outdoors or in an ethnic style, a costume wedding. But as a rule, the newlyweds inform the invitees about such details in advance.
It is worth noting that the floral rule about pastel colors does not have strict limits. This is rather a good tradition, a tribute to the bride’s wedding dress. For lovers of bright colors in bouquets, a seasonal option is suitable. After all, the bouquet can easily be played up in the spirit of the season.
Spring is characterized by delicate shades of lily of the valley or lilac. The awakening of nature, as a symbol of a nascent new family. After a long winter, young greenery is especially pleasing to the eye, so there can be a lot of it in a bouquet. For example, sprigs of asparagus or decorative fern.
Classic options
In the modern world, wedding traditions are still strong, despite all the newfangled trends. A classic is considered to be a tradition that has developed over the last hundred years regarding certain colors. One hundred years is a conventional period of time, but it was with the advent of the twentieth century, with the advent of registry offices and other social institutions in our country, that some flowers acquired the unspoken status of belonging to certain events.
Thus, in the hierarchy of wedding flowers, the rose is the undisputed leader, the queen of the ball. But tulips in our country have long been considered standard, simple flowers, which were customary to be presented at official mediocre celebrations. But there is another side to the coin - tulips are considered a symbol of spring and eternal youth. And also, along with mimosa, they are a traditional gift for Women's Day on March 8th. They are suitable for a modest spring wedding, especially if the event is held in a narrow circle of close people.
The fate of carnations was less successful - red ones became a symbol of political events, and white ones - of funeral ceremonies. But today it is quite acceptable to give a large lush bouquet of white carnations on not very long stems for a wedding.
Times are changing, and nowadays many are destroying past stereotypes, but if you are not sure that you will be understood correctly at the celebration, it is better to keep these nuances in mind.
What else can you give as a present?
Certificates – many boutiques, shops and salons offer to purchase a certificate or voucher for their services. Among them there are even offers that allow you to purchase an interesting product at half the price, and sometimes even less. And by giving the newly formed family a certificate to a store, you will thus give her the opportunity to make her first joint purchase. So, you can present a certificate to a furniture store, to visit a spa or fitness center, to take a hot air balloon flight, tickets to a concert or an invitation to a fashionable nightclub.
Pet food is a specific gift that only the newlyweds themselves can ask for. The wedding invitation may indicate that instead of flowers, it is better to give animal food, dishes for them, or other supplies. It’s just that the spouses may be ardent animal lovers and want to somehow help the most needy of them. Therefore, instead of flowers that will wither in a few days, they prefer to get something that will bring much greater benefits.
Photo of a wedding gift instead of flowers - sweets
Sweets - a chic basket of various sweets will appeal to young people much more than roses and gladioli. Original sweets, cakes and cookies will not go unnoticed, and the bride and groom will remember you with a huge smile when they eat them.
Photo frames – one or more frames for wedding photos will be a wonderful addition to the interior. Young people will definitely find a place for them in their home and will admire the photographs that remind them of such a grandiose event.
Jewelry - earrings for her and cufflinks for him can become a full-fledged gift (and not just a replacement for a bouquet) if it is expensive metal and natural stones.
These are the ideas for a gift instead of flowers for a wedding that you can take into your arsenal and surprise the newlyweds. The choice is yours.
What flowers are best to give for a wedding?
There are no strict rules of etiquette indicating that guests should give flowers. It's rare that anyone comes to a wedding without a bouquet. Many invitees rely on a random arrangement suggested by the seller and, without knowing it, choose flowers with unfavorable symbolism. Familiarize yourself with the meanings of the chosen flowers so that you can take them into account when choosing a bouquet. Traditionally, it is expected to be white or soft pink, associated with innocence and purity. But you can use other colors too. Meaning of basic tones:
- Red is a symbol of passion, love.
- Green – hope, harmony.
- Blue – constancy, loyalty.
- Purple – elegance.
- Orange – wishes for health, family comfort.
- Golden – joy, sunlight.
- Purple is greatness.
An excellent solution for a wedding would be to buy an arrangement in a basket. With this design, the bouquet looks more rich. Thanks to a special floral sponge, it does not require water, so it is more durable and retains its beauty longer. Any celebration will be decorated with a bouquet decorated in the form of animal figures and toys. This is a new direction in floristry that will amaze newlyweds. For example, if you give the newlyweds a snow-white swan made of chrysanthemums. Extraordinary bouquets evoke unforgettable emotions, and the memories of them will last a lifetime.
Roses
The first most popular flowers when creating wedding bouquets are roses, which go perfectly with gypsophila. They mean luxury, abundance, prosperity, love bonds. White symbolizes purity, prudence, tenderness, and red and burgundy symbolize passion. Guests should not give plants in red and burgundy tones to newlyweds; lovers present such flowers to each other. Some people have doubts about yellow roses. Some consider them a symbol of separation and betrayal, others – a wish for joy and prosperity.
Newlyweds will be captivated by a bouquet of roses with inscriptions or photographs of a young married couple. This service has been gaining popularity in recent years. You can decorate not everything, but one or several buds. They depict words, drawings or photos. Roses, decorated with photographs of bright moments in the life of a young married couple, will be the most unusual bouquet at a wedding.
Wildflowers
Poppies, daisies, cornflowers, forget-me-nots or pansies are a must at English weddings. Violets, gerberas, and spikelets are coming back into fashion here. They emphasize ethnic motifs, meaning simplicity, purity, romance. Such bouquets are reminiscent of the sun, give a feeling of home, homeland, and emphasize the freshness, youth, and attractiveness of the bride.
Tulips, hyacinths and daffodils
Spring flowers mean something new, reborn or purity of feelings. If the bouquet contains a sprig of sensual white lilac, then it symbolizes innocence, and purple - first love. Tulip - brings happiness, means strong and pure feelings. Narcissus is a sign of nobility, respect and timid love, white hyacinth is charm and constancy.
Exotic flowers anthuriums
This is a tropical flower belonging to the genus of evergreen plants. It is a thick stem decorated with a petal. The anthurium bud is heart-shaped, and the core resembles an arrow (Cupid's), which is why it is often called that. The plant is considered truly masculine and symbolizes love, prosperity, and passion. Anthuriums are suitable for “vampa women” who are worthy of admiration.
Peonies combined with hydrangea
Peonies in symbolism are an ambiguous flower. In Ancient Greece it brought longevity; in Japan it represents wealth, fertility and joy. In China, there are two versions about peonies, according to one of which the plant symbolizes nobility and is presented when wishing well-being, and according to the other, it is a symbol of love and beauty. Hydrangea is a discreet, fragile inflorescence associated with modesty. In a bouquet with peony they are a symbol of long and tender love.
Gerberas and chrysanthemums
Chrysanthemum is a beautiful flower, meaning joy and friendly feelings. White chrysanthemum is a symbol of sincerity, yellow and red are a declaration of love. Bright, daisy-like gerberas represent freshness and delight. These flowers are very persistent; with proper care they can last up to a month, which is why in some countries they are a symbol of longevity. By sending a bouquet of these flowers, the sender confesses his secret love and wishes for a little flirtation.
What to give as a gift instead of flowers?
To show off your originality, give the newlyweds a non-standard bouquet. You can order an unusual composition or basket of sweets and caramel roses. Figurines of fairy-tale characters or flower paintings created by florists are a delight to the eye. Another new feature is inscriptions on flowers with wishes to the newlyweds, and even entire images. Such “talking flowers” become a real work of art, a luxury that costs a lot of money. For newlyweds with a sense of humor, you can create an amazing bouquet using small soft toys instead of flowers.
Bouquet in the form of toys
Do you want to surprise your family at your wedding? Then buy figurines and toys made from flowers - a new item in wedding fashion. Experienced florists will arrange flowers in such a way as a cartoon character, a white swan, in the shape of a heart, or a whole picturesque picture of a landscape, that everyone will take their breath away when they see your gift. Agree, presenting such a masterpiece to young people is much more prestigious than just a bouquet of flowers, even the most beautiful ones. You can easily make a heart-shaped composition with your own hands. The process is clearly shown in the video.
From chocolates
The basis of this bouquet was expensive chocolates in colorful packaging, diluted with bright multi-colored ribbons and flowers. Once you see such an exclusive item, you will not be able to refuse it. A bouquet of chocolates looks much more attractive than an ordinary bouquet of flowers and a box of chocolates. It is both a beautiful surprise and a delicious treat. Such a work is made by skilled florist designers and decorates the wedding table with dignity. How to make a simple bouquet yourself, watch the video.
Baskets with caramel roses
Want to make your newlyweds' honeymoon even sweeter? Then give them a basket of flowers made from caramel mass for their wedding. An amazingly beautiful sweet gift will delight all guests sitting at the table with its appearance. Such a bouquet will not only not wither a few days after the wedding, but will give the young couple a good mood for a long time. They will be given a lot of beautiful fresh flowers, but only you will have such a fabulous bouquet.
Throwing Ritual
Throwing a chic arrangement behind your back without looking means that the bride has found her happiness. And it is so huge that the girl generously shares it with those who are still searching. The story of throwing a wedding bouquet is very interesting.
At first, bouquets were not thrown, but guests were allowed to take out a flower from the garlands and wreaths with which they decorated themselves. But this tradition did not take root. One of the most likely reasons for this is that brides simply stopped hanging themselves with flowers so abundantly.
However, the message of generosity and help remained. It was embodied in the ritual of throwing a bouquet. Regardless of whether the girl knows about it or not, this is a kind of magical rite that works and in practice helps lonely hearts find their happiness.

Many experienced wedding planners advise giving flowers at a wedding not after the ceremony at the registry office, but in a restaurant. They have a clear reason for this.
At any wedding, there has long been an unspoken rule of giving “envelopes”, which in itself is very practical and appropriate. But in such cases, we are faced with the feeling that we are coming to the wedding without a gift. And that’s why we don’t feel very comfortable. The ideal way out is to buy a bouquet of flowers. The question arises - when is the best time to give it?
The vast majority of guests give flowers to the bride at the wedding at the registry office. Everything seems to look quite logical - come up after the ceremony and hand over a bouquet, hug and kiss the bride, shake hands with the groom. But due to the special solemnity of the moment, happy tears, hugs and kisses, flowers are lost in the general mass of impressions, and they receive the least attention.
With a surge of emotions, the bride almost mechanically accepts bouquet after bouquet, without looking closely at the fact that they are made to match the color of the wedding dress from her favorite flowers. As a result, the bouquets are conveyed like a conveyor belt to a friend, mother, organizer, etc. It is even more revealing to see in the photographs taken in the registry office a witness loaded with flowers, who alone can barely cope with a pile of bouquets. As a matter of fact, this is one of the important roles of a bridesmaid at a wedding. It would be nice if she also had helpers.
Further – even “better”. While the guests are drinking champagne, all the flowers are thrown in one heap onto the back seats of cars or into the trunk and carried without water for 2-3 hours of the wedding walk. In the heat without air conditioning, the bouquets “spoil”; in the cold they freeze. In general, nothing good.
After 3-4 hours in the restaurant they will remember about the bouquets and put them in the water en masse. In this case, the nets will cling, the foliage will fall off, and the roses will injure the delicate stems of other equally expensive varietal flowers with their thorns. You can guess for yourself how it all looks. There is no one physically available to group flowers by type or trim the stems. It is rare for anyone in the Russian outback to order a professional florist for a wedding. As a result, in half a day without proper moisture and attention, the flowers quickly wither and lose their shape.
Now estimate the approximate cost of one such bouquet and multiply by the total quantity. Doesn't the figure shock you? That's why it's better to give all the flowers in the restaurant.
Obvious advantages:
- The bouquet or basket is prepared much later in time; the flowers are stored in water and cool. This prolongs their life and preserves aesthetics.
- There is no need to ride with them for hours, starting with the ransom, continuing with the registry office and ending with the wedding walk.
- You can order a bouquet and ask for it to be delivered directly to the restaurant. Moreover, not always and not everyone has the opportunity to pick up flowers on their own. You can save time.
A restaurant is the best place to present flowers with the opportunity to demonstrate and play with the design of the bouquet, highlight and briefly draw attention to it. The presentation can be played up with words, especially since there are a lot of options for this.
For example, you could say:
- “We remember that Masha really loves orange gerberas. May your life together be as bright and joyful!”
- “Your couple looks so tender, so accept from us these delicate lilies/ hyacinths/ tulips as a sign of your mutual tenderness...”
Coming up with pleasant parting words and giving an envelope or gift along with the bouquet looks very organic. Your bouquet will be received without haste. If it is handed over to the witness, it will not be immediately. This will be done with feeling and sense in a comfortable environment. The flowers will remain fresh and not disheveled. The question – when is the best time to give flowers at a wedding – can be considered fully answered and justified.
As a summary, I would like to note that it is not easy to abandon generally accepted stereotypes that have developed over the years. And the recommendations in this article are not suitable for everyone.
The question is not to attract everyone's attention when presenting a bouquet. This is a little about something else, about attention to detail.
That at a wedding not only the bride, but everyone around her should be beautiful. Including flowers.
