Wedding of Vita and Yegor Neskuchny Garden - Central Park of Culture and Culture Park named after. M. Gorky

The bride and groom's walk is an integral part of almost any wedding. The most beautiful shots can usually be taken on it. Since no one is in a hurry, you have time to think about setting the shot and choosing a location. Most often, couples themselves know where they want to organize a photo shoot of their walk, but sometimes they turn to a photographer for advice: where is better, where is there less people, where is more beautiful?

In this article we will look at 16 places to photograph the bride and groom walking in Moscow, highlighting their advantages and disadvantages. With your permission, I will omit such popular places as Poklonnaya Gora, Sparrow Hills, Patriarchal Bridge and Alexander Garden, since they are already very famous, and the further you go, the more difficult it becomes to film there due to the huge number of people.

Museum-estate "Arkhangelskoye"

The Arkhangelskoye Estate Museum is located in the Krasnogorsk district of the Moscow region, 20 kilometers west of Moscow. This estate is a unique monument of Russian artistic culture. The park is open seven days a week from 10.00 to 20.00 every day, except Monday and Tuesday. The last Wednesday of every month is sanitary day.

Arkhangelskoye is one of my favorite places for photography, and not just wedding photography, for several reasons.

Firstly, the territory of the park is truly huge and therefore you can always find a place where no one will bother you. True, at the height of the wedding season, the most popular places may be occupied by other couples, but there is no problem with queues.

Secondly, in Arkhangelskoye there are many interesting locations for shooting: the majestic Colonnade, popular among photographers, a boat station in the depths of the park, observation decks on the upper level, the river bank, grassy lawns, a dilapidated gazebo, arches entwined with greenery, the Church of Michael the Archangel, and even just a forest area, if you suddenly want to find a secluded place.

Thirdly, since the estate is not located within the city, there are usually fewer people there. On the other hand, it is not too far and convenient to get to. And finally, the prices for photography are very reasonable.

The St. Regis Moscow Nikolskaya

Hotel St. Regis has many photogenic areas. A ballroom, an open area on the roof overlooking the Kremlin, a courtyard with columns, semicircular balconies, luxurious marble staircases in the hall, rooms, corridors, restaurants and even elevators - all this can turn into an excellent backdrop for photographs.

Museum-Reserve "Kolomenskoye"

Kolomenskoye is a state art historical-architectural and natural-landscape museum-reserve. Located south of the center of Moscow, it is part of the Moscow State United Museum-Reserve Kolomenskoye-Lefortovo-Lublino-Izmailovo. The advantages of this place include a large territory, location within the city and interesting places for shooting.

There are several colorful churches on the territory of Kolomenskoye. You can go down to the river and take pictures on the wooden stairs that connect the different levels of the park. Streams appear in spring and autumn. Well, the main attraction of Kolomenskoye for photographers is the apple orchard. The even rows of curved old apple trees leave few people indifferent at any time of the year; in the spring, during flowering, it is especially beautiful there, and even in the summer, when the apple trees bear fruit, you can take wonderful pictures.

I haven’t met too many newlyweds in Kolomenskoye, and this, coupled with the large area, makes it easy to shoot there. However, in the summer quite a lot of people come there for a walk, so sometimes you have to wait until passersby leave the frame. I never had any problems with filming there. Although, compared to Arkhangelsk, there are still fewer interesting places for filming.

Palace and park ensemble "Tsaritsyno"

The ensemble has recently undergone restoration and currently looks much better. Today, in addition to the architectural ensemble and historical landscape park, the Tsaritsyno State Museum-Reserve includes the cascade of Tsaritsyn and Borisov ponds, numerous architectural monuments and cultural heritage sites of the 18th-19th centuries. The advantage of this place is that it, like Kolomenskoye, is easy to get to.

However, I don’t like Tsaritsino for one simple reason. All these brick bridges and arches, ponds and alleys lose all their photographic value due to some crazy year-round flow of people. There are very few “closed” locations where you have an extremely small viewing angle, without general panoramas, and it can be very difficult to take a shot without a bunch of people walking in the background, while emphasizing the beauty of the place. However, trying is not torture, and this is purely my opinion. Other than this, I didn’t have any problems with photography there.

Kuskovo Estate

The Kuskovo estate is a unique cultural monument of the 18th century, one of the earliest examples of summer country residences in Russia. According to information from the estate’s website, since 2007, the Kuskovo estate has been working under the Moscow Government program “On organizing activities for state registration of marriage in a ceremonial setting.” In other words, the newlyweds can get married right there, in the White Hall of the Italian House.

However, to visit the Kuskovo estate you will need to purchase tickets at the museum box office for each guest from the wedding group and a ticket for photo and video shooting for 500 rubles. Professional filming (which means filming using special equipment, tripods, spotlights, reflective screens, other equipment and props) is carried out only on the basis of written permission from the museum administration. Which, of course, complicates the organizational process for the newlyweds.

Among the shortcomings, I can also note the not very convenient location of the estate, however, this is very conditional and depends on the place of residence of the newlyweds and on where other stages of the wedding celebration will take place.

Speaking about the advantages, it is worth noting, firstly, that there are usually not very many people there, especially not in the summer. And secondly, the park is really extremely beautiful: marble sculptures, ponds, canals, bridges, park pavilions, a church, a palace, a bell tower - all this will allow the photographer to get very beautiful pictures.

Preface

In the case of a wedding in the city without on-site registration, the wedding walk is part of the classic wedding celebration. Usually the walk is taken after the marriage registration at the registry office and/or the wedding ceremony are completed.

If, as is now very fashionable, you are planning an on-site registration outside the city, a wedding photo shoot can be held on any day, without being tied to the date of official registration at the registry office.

The most important thing when conducting a photo shoot is a good mood, patience, and enjoyment of every minute of the day.

The Ekstravaganza company is ready to offer various options for venues for wedding photo shoots both in the city and in the Moscow region, taking into account the style of the wedding, your taste preferences and weather conditions.

Below we list possible locations for photo sessions.

Main Botanical Garden named after. N.V. Tsitsin RAS

The Main Botanical Garden named after N.V. Tsitsin RAS has the richest collections of plants representing the diverse flora of almost all continents and climatic zones of the globe. The nearest metro stations are VDNH and Vladykino. In the park itself, in my opinion, there is nothing particularly noteworthy for a photographer, except for the beautiful alleys, flower beds and a pond in front of the main building.

But in the depths of the garden there is an exhibition “Japanese Garden”. This garden, quite small in size, has long been a favorite of photographers because it is truly beautiful. Japanese-style gazebos and sculptures, bridges, small waterfalls, beautiful flowers and trees - everything is imbued with a feeling of some kind of “intimacy” and comfort. Perhaps, precisely because this place is in great demand, prices for professional photo, film, video shooting, private and corporate events, according to information from the website, are rather high: 10,000 rubles. per hour + 500 rubles, multiplied by the number of participants.

However, the cost of amateur photo and video shooting is only 50 rubles. In parentheses, as an explanation of what is meant by amateur photography, it is indicated - without a tripod. A weighty argument, nothing can be said, because, apparently, a tripod is exactly what distinguishes a professional from an amateur, according to the administration. In my opinion, you can easily get by without a tripod there. However, if I were the newlyweds, I would still call in advance and clarify this issue. The opening hours of both the Botanical Garden itself and the Japanese Garden should be clarified in advance.

Boring Garden

Neskuchny Garden is the oldest park in Moscow and the largest park in the historical center of Moscow, a monument of landscape art with many monuments of architecture, history and culture, and a nature reserve. Neskuchny Garden is located on Leninsky Prospekt. This place is not very popular among newlyweds, and therefore it will be quite easy to film a wedding there without competing for space with others.

In the garden there is a beautiful bridge, a fountain, a pond with swans, and a “Lovers' Clock.” It's nice to walk there, but plans for its reconstruction are still in limbo, and therefore it cannot be said that it has been improved. In other words, it's easy to get dirty. But, in my opinion, the place is pleasant and beautiful, and besides, it won’t be difficult to go and explore it in advance and look at it with your own eyes.

Bear Lakes

28 kilometers from Moscow, along the Shchelkovskoye Highway, is the village of Medvezhye Ozera. Lush greenery, two shallow (2-3 m) lakes - Big and Small, patriarchal peace - an ideal place for a wedding in a rustic style.

For filming, the natural beauty of nature can be supplemented with light decorations (tent, arch), and you can also take a number of photographs of the bride and groom sailing in a boat on the lake.

To conduct a photo shoot, it is better to invite a photographer who has already photographed in this area; he already knows the best angles, and will not waste time choosing a perspective. It is worth saying that there are excellent conditions for holding an outdoor wedding, including on-site marriage registration and a formal banquet. It is not advisable to go to Bear Lakes just for a photo shoot.

Moscow has a sufficient number of park areas and gardening ensembles, no less colorful. However, this is a personal matter for the newlyweds.

Botanical Garden of Moscow State University - “Apothecary Garden”

“Aptekarsky Ogorod” is located near the Prospekt Mira metro station on the Circle Line. The area is small, but very pleasant and well-groomed. The garden is closed in March–April for several days to carry out spring landscaping work, and also in September for 1–2 weeks to plant a number of plants and prepare the garden for winter. Sometimes it is closed due to weather conditions or for special events, so before planning a honeymoon there, you should first check whether the garden will be open on a certain day. Professional photo and video shooting is paid.

Wedding photography on site - 1200 rubles per hour. Wedding photography in greenhouses - 3000 rubles per hour. Pre-registration is required for photography, and the cost does not include entrance tickets. In my opinion, this place is not enough for the bride and groom to walk. You can drop by there on the way, but planning a walk only there is boring, since 30 minutes will be enough for you to do everything.

The StandArt Hotel Moscow

The modern hotel "Standard" combines progressive global trends and retrofuturistic interior. Excellent photos will be obtained in high-level apartments: “Classic”, “De Luxe”, “Lux”, “Grand Lux”. A bar, a YURA restaurant, a summer terrace overlooking the city - all of these can also become excellent locations for wedding photography.

Vorontsovo Estate (Vorontsovsky Park)

The natural historical and architectural complex “Vorontsovo Estate”, better known as “Vorontsov Park”, is a “green zone” in the South-West of Moscow. Currently it is a park area with picturesque oak and birch alleys. The park has an Orthodox church and ponds; entry to the park is free. This is not the most famous or popular place, and therefore there may be fewer people there, which makes it easier to take photos.

Ostankino Park

An important place among the attractions of Moscow is given to Ostankino Park. The well-groomed landscape with shady alleys is conducive to a leisurely walk.

In addition to the fact that the park itself is a natural backdrop for a wedding photo shoot, there are many objects on its territory that will diversify your photographs.

The belvedere is very popular among newlyweds - it makes for interesting pictures against its background and in it itself. The theatrical sculpture park deserves special mention - an excellent setting for cute, funny photos. The shore of the pond located in the park is also a remarkable location for filming.

In winter, the picturesque views of the park are significantly reduced, so the best time for a photo shoot in the park is late spring, summer and early autumn (before the leaves fall).

Izmailovo Kremlin

Quoting the website of this wonderful place, “The Izmailovo Kremlin is a cozy corner of pre-Petrine Moscow, in which Russian history and fairy tales are intertwined with modernity!” It is located in one of the most beautiful historical places in Moscow, in a nature conservation area on the shore of Serebryano-Vinogradny Pond. It is located near the Partizanskaya metro station, right behind the famous Vernissage, in the Eastern Administrative District. This is an amazing wooden architectural ensemble, recreated according to sketches of the 17th century in the style of Russian wooden architecture.

They organize weddings there (if I were Orwell lovers, I would be tense, but in fact they do a great job). There is a Wedding Palace on the territory; you can even get married there, in the existing Orthodox Church on the territory of the Kremlin. The territory itself is very bright and picturesque, these wooden passages and galleries, the bright colors of the Kremlin, beautiful banquet halls...

I’ll be honest: I really enjoyed working there. As a disadvantage, I would note that I would characterize the area itself as crime-prone, and not every couple would want to walk there. Entertainment for the brave, in general. But the place certainly deserves attention.

VDNH

VDNKh (Exhibition of National Economic Achievements) is one of the 50 best exhibition centers in the world; on its territory there are a large number of exhibition pavilions, which, due to their architectural diversity, themselves serve as a backdrop for photographs.

The monuments “Worker and Collective Farm Woman”, “Conquerors of Space”, fountains “Friendship of Peoples” and “Stone Flower” are not a complete list of objects worthy of attention. Well-groomed, bright flower beds and picturesque alleys are a good backdrop for romantic photos.

As if especially for staged photos, there are amusement parks in the park (to the left and right of the main entrance). On the exhibition grounds you can not only conduct a photo shoot, but also organize an on-site marriage registration and wedding banquet. You should also add:

  • advantages - free entrance to the territory, parking, photo and video shooting;
  • disadvantages - there are many visitors who, if they get into the frame, can ruin the photo.

Novodevichy Convent

The monastery is located in the southwest of Moscow, near the Sportivnaya metro station, close to many of the main “wedding points”: from Vorobyovy Gory to Poklonnaya Gora. Not the best place for a main walk, but the area adjacent to the monastery with a pond is very beautiful. During the shooting, one of my couples stopped by there to walk around the walls of the monastery and along the alleys, and also to hang a symbol of love and fidelity, a personalized padlock, on a small bridge on the territory.

Bogdan Khmelnitsky Bridge (Kyiv Pedestrian Bridge)

This is a steel arched pedestrian bridge across the Moscow River, connecting the Berezhkovskaya and Rostov embankments near the Kievsky railway station. It cannot be considered as a main place for a walk, but as a lifesaver in case of bad weather it is quite suitable. Moreover, steel structures look very stylish. It is light on the bridge and offers a beautiful panorama, so it is not surprising that you can meet photographers there quite often.

In addition, there is the opportunity to go from the inside of the bridge to the external balconies in the summer, and, of course, no one will ask for money for filming.

Among the disadvantages, it can be noted that due to the proximity of the station, there are a lot of people on the bridge, and the surrounding area is not particularly colorful. Although you can still take a beautiful picture if you try really hard. If the wedding is planned to continue on a pleasure boat, then there is a pier nearby and, if desired, you can walk to the Novodevichy Convent.

Bagrationovsky Bridge

This pedestrian bridge is part of the Moscow City complex. It is just like the Kyiv one, closed with transparent, gracefully curved glass walls, which makes it indispensable in bad weather conditions, when no sane bride would agree to walk in the park.

I once photographed a wedding there in exactly these conditions. The rain poured down with no sign of stopping. The idea of going to the park was discarded as impractical and we went there. It was very difficult to photograph because of some absolutely crazy crowd of newlyweds and photographers. Obviously, they all faced the same problem as we did, and since in normal times this bridge is much more beautiful and deserted than the Kiev bridge, they also chose it.

In good weather it is also very beautiful there and, I believe, there are still fewer people. Shooting on the bridge is unlikely to pass for a full-fledged walk, but then it is quite possible to stroll along the embankment and continue the photo shoot there.

Gorky Park

The park complex, which includes the Neskuchny Garden, the Vorobyovy Gory nature reserve and the Muzeon art park - all this is the Central Park of Culture and Culture named after. Gorky, the main park of Russia.

There are many monuments in the park; in fact, you can list the monuments worthy of being captured during wedding photography starting from the main entrance - photographs against the backdrop of the colonnade will turn out to be impressive.

In addition to the monuments, it is worth taking a photo near the illuminated fountain. A large number of attractions provide an opportunity not only to take interesting photos, but also to have fun.

Shooting near the water can be done on the shore of the Golitsynsky pond, on the surface of which black-necked swans swim.

It would seem that such a magnificent park cannot have any disadvantages, and yet, it should be noted:

  • advantages – admission is free, as is photography;
  • disadvantages – crowded, parking problems.

Considering the size of the park, it is advisable to invite a photographer who has experience in wedding photography in this particular park, since it is difficult to get around it all during a wedding walk

An experienced photographer will offer the best options and you won’t have to choose an angle or background at the last moment.

Luzhkov Bridge

Luzhkov Bridge is one of the pedestrian bridges across the Vodootvodny Canal; it connects Bolotnaya Square with Kadashevskaya Embankment. The bridge is an integral part of the architectural and artistic ensemble of the State Tretyakov Gallery, as a result of which it is unofficially called “Tretyakovsky”.

Another name for it is “Kissing Bridge”. In April 2007, the first “tree of love” in Moscow appeared there - a metal sculpture in the form of a tree, designed specifically for newlyweds to hang locks on, stopping overloading the bridge at the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and unfortunate living trees in all kinds of parks. Six months later, two more trees appeared - people supported the initiative, the “trees of love” turned out to be very popular.

As of the end of 2011, 7 trees were erected on the bridge itself and 15 near its tip on Bolotnaya Embankment. I think this will not be the end of the matter. I wouldn’t say that the place is particularly original and that there is plenty to do there, but it’s a good option for starting a walk.

Crocus City Mall

It’s unlikely to be described more beautifully than they described themselves, so I’ll quote from the site: “The luxurious space of a real tropical park, where the smell of exotic flowers is combined with the aroma of delicious dishes, forms an amazing a. Snow-white sandstone, emerald greenery of tropical plants, a turquoise pool, cafes hidden in the leaves, tropical sounds, fashionable sports cars and rare old timers - a real source of inspiration.” Paradise, and that's all.

In fact, this is a modern shopping complex located on the Moscow Ring Road. “Shopping as art” is their motto. It's really very beautiful inside, especially since shooting indoors is always attractive in bad weather conditions. Only you will have to agree in advance with the administration about photographing a wedding there. Most likely, to hold it you will have to order a buffet for guests or pay for it separately. In any case, the pleasure is not the cheapest.

However, in this way Crocus City Mall limits the flow of people, and you are unlikely to encounter a crowd of newlyweds there. So if the newlyweds are ready to go to such expense for the sake of shooting in a beautiful interior, stock up on a tripod, reflector and flash - this is a great chance to get gorgeous shots.

GUM

GUM, also known as the “Main Department Store”, is a large shopping complex in the center of Moscow, which faces Red Square with its main façade and has a rich history. Open daily from 10:00 to 22:00. Although GUM is primarily a shopping center, the design of the store is extremely beautiful, and therefore many people take photographs on the wonderful bridges and “streets” of GUM.

I should note that sometimes during professional filming (if the guards see a professional camera, or a tripod, which for some reason irritates everyone) problems arise, but in principle they can be resolved, as far as I know, there is no ban on professional filming in GUM. does not exist.

As disadvantages, I personally would note advertising posters and store signs, which can spoil the background, as well as shoppers and walkers do not always fit into the composition. Well, the bridges and fountain are beautiful.

Hotel Korston

I recently managed to photograph a wedding there, and the impressions were quite pleasant. The hotel is located on the banks of the Moscow River, in the Vorobyovy Gory area, a 10-minute drive from the historical center of the city, which, however, is fraught with traffic jams. When pre-ordering a wedding banquet or buffet for guests, photography is free. The hotel launched the “Brides' Ball” project, within which every Saturday from 12.00 to 17.00 and sometimes on Fridays the doors are opened for wedding photographers. Several specially designed rooms are available for filming:

  1. Bar with panoramic views on the 20th floor
  2. The hotel lobby, with the adjoining European restaurant Bonjour Café and its main attraction - a snow-white Bluthner grand piano. The piano plays on its own, we laughed a lot with the newlyweds.
  3. Restaurant Galileo, stylized as a Greek galley
  4. Banquet hall Place de Paris, designed in the form of a French square under the “open sky”, with tables, ladders, lanterns and a stage illuminated by lights. In my experience, it’s quite difficult to shoot there - the French square is in twilight, despite the completely daytime painted sky, and it’s dark there.

Also, according to the information from the hotel’s website, “business” and “comfort” category rooms are available for photography – 1000 rubles, filming time is no more than 4 hours. This offer is valid only upon presentation of a marriage certificate.

Modus Restaurant

A majestic three-story neoclassical mansion with stained glass windows that flood the hall with sunlight during the day—sounds like the perfect place for a photo shoot. On the ground floor of the Modus restaurant there is a fireplace and comfortable upholstered furniture. On the second and third there is a two-level banquet hall in light colors with triumphal columns.
