Miniature, slightly similar to a hybrid of lilies and alstroemeria orchids, fit perfectly into both bright and delicate bridal bouquets. A huge number of colors, including those with exotic sensual spots, allow you to create truly special compositions that complement any outfit and theme of the celebration. Among other things, the buds of these flowers are hardy, so they will survive severe frost, hot sun rays, and just a very long day.
Peculiarities
Alstroemeria or Peruvian lily is a flower brought from distant Peru, and has gained incredible popularity in Europe.
Despite the name and similar appearance, alstroemeria is not related to either lilies or orchids. This is a separate species with its own properties, for example, almost complete absence of odor.
Interesting! The flower has long been considered by the indigenous people of Peru as a divine sign of the Sun, a plant that can protect and bring good luck.
Modern floristry has assigned it a slightly different meaning. It is chosen by those who want to express the endless patience of love and willingness to overcome any difficulties shoulder to shoulder.
Advantages
The main advantages of this wonderful flower include:
- incredible durability - the bouquet will live for at least three more weeks after the end of the ceremony, and the negative influence of the weather will not matter to it;
- a huge palette of shades : from delicate pastels to incredibly bright ones;
- lack of aroma , so nothing will overpower your favorite perfume;
- accessibility - flowers are grown in artificial conditions all year round;
- Excellent compatibility with any other plants , even the most capricious ones.
Color spectrum
The palette of flower shades is amazing:
- First of all , delicate, pastel colors - pink, cream, white, soft yellow, which look great in a bouquet for a rustic, vintage, romantic wedding;
- Bright options - red, purple, raspberry, orange, which fit perfectly into a fairy-tale or boho celebration;
- Two-color varieties with edging, stripes, and more or less obvious spots are very popular - for the bride and florists there is a huge scope for creativity and combination with other buds of the desired shades.
Beautiful examples
Examples of beautiful and extraordinary bouquets are presented in a wide variety. Jewelry wedding bouquets, which are professionally made from natural stones and crystals, are considered the most expensive today.
Compositions made from fabric and ribbons look original; you can make wonderful roses from silk. They can be decorated with rhinestones and beads. Examples of what a good bouquet should look like include a combination of soft pink flowers with bright berries.
Dark blue tones of cornflowers with black callas, bright orange apples with purple irises. There are many design options for this bride's accessory; all that remains is to choose which one is most suitable for the celebration, taking into account the dress, the decoration of the hall and other subtleties.

Ideas for wedding bouquets
Alstroemeria seems to be specially created for a luxurious cascading form. Exotic wavy petals fall beautifully in waves and peek out from the fluffy greenery. When choosing such a bouquet, remember that the cascade is best suited for tall girls.
A round bouquet of alstroemerias turns out no less cute, and looks organic in the hands of miniature girls, adding charm and charm to them.
There are also non-standard forms in which alstroemeria looks incomparable:
- pomander, which is a ball on a ribbon that can be put on your hand;
- Rosamelia is an artificial giant flower made up of many individual buds.
White mono bouquet
An absolutely white composition will emphasize the innocence and fragility of the bride, adding a touch of trepidation to her. This bouquet will suit any dress - snow-white or colorful, lush or elegant. The greenery of the leaves and playful spots on the petals will make the image not so boring and add naturalness to it.
The leg can be made white by wrapping it in fabric or lace of the desired shade, or left open - in this case the composition will turn out more delicate and fresh. Alstroemerias are absolutely self-sufficient, so a mono-bouquet will not look boring in any case , but if desired, you can add other flowers.
Chrysanthemums
Chrysanthemums are presented in a whole palette of warm and cold shades, which allows you to create the most unexpected, creative combinations.
Interesting! Symbolically, chrysanthemums mean well-being, which makes them welcome guests in a wedding bouquet.
Fluffier and sweeter chrysanthemums will wonderfully complement the restrained sensuality of alstroemerias, helping to achieve the necessary harmony.
Bouquets of different flowers of the same shade look restrained and stylish, and it doesn’t matter whether it’s pastel pink or bright scarlet.
However, no one bothers you to play with color combinations, relying on your taste and palette of celebration decoration. Remember that using more than three pure colors or five shades makes the composition too heterogeneous and overloaded. Be sure to choose one base color, and add the rest as small accents.
Gerberas
Large round gerberas will unexpectedly dilute the elegance of alstroemerias, adding sophistication and enthusiasm to the overall picture. Bright colors will immediately create a cheerful and spring mood, and white or cream gerberas will create a romantic aura.
It is best to choose medium-sized inflorescences for such a bouquet or dilute it with greenery so that the composition does not turn out to be visually too heavy.
Monochrome compositions look great - white, pink, cream. These gerberas add elegance to the bouquet.
Irises, orchids, lilies
Alstroemeria will in no case object to being next to exotic flowers.
White or yellow Peruvian lilies go especially well with delicate purple-yellow irises. Of course, such a bright bouquet requires proper framing - bright accessories and a simple dress style, so that different elements of the image do not conflict for the main role.
The pink and purple combination is also interesting - such a bouquet will suit a very creative, dreamy bride. Remember that irises are very delicate flowers that do not tolerate frost and unnecessary touches well , so we recommend taping the stems in the bouquet.
If you decide to add lilies to alstroemerias, then you should play with the visual similarity of these flowers. For example, make a cascade of buds of similar but slightly different shades.
By combining them with Alstroemeria orchids, you can achieve elegance by using plain white or pink buds. If you want exotic brightness, then try combining contrasting colors - for example, crimson, yellow and purple. This option is suitable, for example, for a gypsy wedding style.
Both orchids and lilies are perfectly complemented by small fluffy greenery. It will slightly dilute the luxurious texture of the petals and give the bouquet freshness.
Eustoma
Eustoma is slightly similar to a rose, but its inflorescences have a softer, rounded shape.
A wide palette of colors, including those with petal edging, allows you to create interesting and unexpected compositions in a duet with alstroemeria.
Interesting! On a symbolic level, eustoma means sincerity and gratitude.
You can choose tone-on-tone buds, and then the bouquet will resemble the classic combination of lilies and roses , with the only difference that neither alstroemeria nor eustoma secrete enzymes that destroy other plants, which means that the bouquet will delight you for several more weeks after the wedding.
Round bouquets of eustoma and alstroemeria look interesting: both pastel and delicate, and bright, extravagant.
Rose
An elegant rose - a symbol of love and fidelity - looks great surrounded by more natural, captivating alstroemerias, while the latter will not interrupt the delicate aroma of its crowned neighbor.
Delicate white and pink bouquets that fit into the traditional image of the bride are very popular. Bold compositions are obtained by combining white with scarlet, and either a rose or a Peruvian lily can become a bright accent.
You can choose not classic roses with long legs with large buds, but small bush varieties. They will become a democratic backdrop against which the splendor of alstroemeria will be fully revealed.
Types of decor
Today, floristry abounds not only with all sorts of options for arranging bouquets, from formal classics to fancy options that surprise and attract attention, but also with types of decor. And here everything depends on the imagination of the florist and the wishes of the bride
When it is important to emphasize the seriousness of a girl’s character, modesty and tenderness of nature, the composition is decorated with a snow-white or red satin ribbon, as well as lace. Also a wonderful option would be a pearl thread that runs through the entire composition.
If a girl prefers expression, she should use brighter accents: beads, rhinestones, berries, shells, gems - and the endless list of decorative elements does not end there. For decoration, choose everything that fits into the ensemble - from sunflowers to artificial butterflies and dragonflies. The main condition is moderation and a sense of harmony.
Florist advice
To make the bouquet delight you as long as possible, do not forget:
- place the flowers in a bright place, but not in direct sunlight;
- in winter, place the vase away from radiators and heaters;
- trim the stems by a few centimeters, and the cut should be oblique, and made not with scissors, but with a knife or pruning shears;
- tear off all the leaves that touch the water, otherwise they will begin to rot;
- add sugar, aspirin or a special composition for flowers to the water;
- Do not fill the vase entirely with water (half the volume is enough);
- Throw away fading flowers in a timely manner so that they do not poison the remaining ones.
Why do you need a duplicate for a wedding?
A bride's bouquet is not only a beautiful accessory, but also a symbol of a beginning happy life, a talisman of family well-being. There is a belief that if you dry wedding flowers, they will protect the house, the couple and the children that appear for a long time.
But even without superstitions, a flower arrangement means a lot to a bride, because choosing it is no easier than choosing a dress, makeup and hairstyle. Specific names of colors, decor, shades, the smallest details - everything that makes up a complete ensemble requires imagination, effort and money. This means giving it to even your most beloved girlfriend is quite difficult.
Important! If flowers have a strong aroma, then constant presence of them can cause headaches. If you don’t want to suffer from a migraine, make a stand-in bouquet... Meanwhile, the tradition of throwing a bouquet at the end of the wedding, allowing you to find out which lucky girl will walk down the aisle next, is not something brides are ready to give up
How to be? You can, of course, take the bouquet from the girlfriend who caught it, leaving one flower for luck. Another option is to throw in a specially made accessory, then the girl will keep it as a memory, but the tradition of keeping the main bride’s bouquet will also be respected. Situations when you can’t do without a backup bouquet:

Another option is to throw in a specially made accessory, then the girl will keep it as a memory, but the tradition of keeping the main bride’s bouquet will also be respected. Situations when you can’t do without a backup bouquet:
- the main composition is very heavy, for example, a large bouquet with a porta bouquet - not every girl can throw about 5-7 kg, as well as catch them without injury;
- a winter ceremony is planned - even the most resilient plants will not feel too good by the end of the holiday;
- the main bouquet is made up of lilies, peonies, and other buds with fragile petals that simply cannot withstand being thrown;
- the wedding is held in Art Nouveau style, and the bouquet contains iron or other sharp decorative elements.
Recommendations for selection
Alstroemerias are very hardy flowers that will not wither even in less than ideal conditions. If you are collecting a bouquet of several types of plants, then be sure to focus on the most fragile flower. Even one withered or wrinkled bud will destroy the fragile fabulousness of the overall image.
You can combine the Peruvian lily with any plant: from simple garden and wildflowers to luxurious roses or lilies. Alstroemerias look great with exotic varieties and colors of irises, orchids, and bright chrysanthemums. But remember that it is better not to add more than three pure flowers to the bouquet, and there should be no more than five shades of one color.
Excessive colorfulness indicates too high a level of contrast , and therefore, if you still decide on it, then the dress, hairstyle, and makeup should be appropriate - this is possible at a Hawaiian or, say, gypsy themed wedding.
The bouquet must be in harmony with both the overall design of the wedding and the image of the bride. Everything is important - color type, figure, height, hairstyle, dress style, other accessories:
- A cascading bouquet is perfect for tall girls, but short ones should take a closer look at a round shape or pomander;
- If bright flowers are used in the bouquet, it is good to add the same element to the hairstyle;
- For a monochrome bouquet, decorate the stem with ribbon or lace of the same shade. In color compositions, bare green stems are also acceptable, but they still need to be tied.
Advice! When choosing the design of the bouquet stem, be sure to make sure that it is comfortable to hold in your hands.
Decor
When choosing a bouquet design, be sure to focus on the theme of the wedding, because what looks harmonious and cute in one style will be perceived as alien in another.
A vintage or retro celebration implies an abundance of various details. The bouquet is decorated with a skirt made of tulle or lace, feathers, rhinestones, and pieces of fur. Pendants in the form of a birdcage, a mask, hearts, keys and locks look very good. The flowers themselves can be decorated with rhinestones or pearls of a contrasting color, mesh, artificial birds or butterflies.
If the outfit or accessories have some bright accent, for example, beads or a lace pattern, then a great idea is to repeat it in the design of the bouquet, for example, by decorating the leg accordingly
When decorating a bouquet for a celebration in natural styles - rustic, country, eco-wedding - pay attention to craft paper, regular twine and even untreated linen
Art Nouveau and steampunk allow the use of unusual elements for decoration - abstract sculptures made of plastic, wood and metal, newspapers, wires, gears and microcircuits.
An ordinary satin ribbon intercepting succulent stems is a classic, but no less captivating option.

The wedding bouquet plays an important role in the bride’s image; it complements the delicate image and makes it even more charming. A bouquet of alstroemeria will suit passionate and romantic natures , those who want to please themselves with exquisite tenderness and extraordinary beauty.
Alstroemeria - flowers of the sun
Alstroemeria also has another name - lily of the Incas or Peruvian lily. The Incas believed that this amazing flower personified the sun on earth, had enormous magical power, brought good luck, and protected from evil spirits and spells.
The Peruvian lily symbolizes the softness and strength of a woman's character. It is suitable for romantic and passionate brides.
The Swede Alstrimer, surprised by the beauty of the flower, brought it from America to Europe in the 18th century. Today, alstroemeria is grown in many countries and is in great demand. The graceful shape of the petals, dots and veins are reminiscent of both a lily and an orchid at the same time. A wedding bouquet of alstroemerias looks stylish, original and elegant.
Compatibility with style
A bride definitely needs a beautiful bouquet for her wedding. The good thing about Alstroemeria is that it can make a universal composition for any chosen theme.
At a classic wedding, such a composition will emphasize the elegance and femininity of the bride and can be suitable for celebrations both in a luxurious banquet hall and in nature. Since there is a large selection of shades, this accessory can be made harmonious with any color scheme of the celebration.
- A hemispherical bouquet of soft pink Peruvian lilies is suitable for a wedding in a vintage or shabby chic style.
- A bright composition of scarlet buds will harmoniously combine with a mafia, retro or Spanish wedding theme.
- Pale blue and lilac alstroemeria are suitable for creating a bouquet in a rustic or Provence style, especially if you do not use other plants and decorations.
- The combination of fuchsia flowers with rhinestones and beads will create the perfect look for a glamorous celebration.
Master class from fresh flowers “Do-it-yourself bridal bouquet”
1) Remove the lid and remove the floral sponge from the bouquet maker, immerse it in a container of cold water.
2) Fill the handle of the bouquet maker with pieces of napkins or paper towels (in case water leaks from the sponge).
3) Remove the leaves from the roses, cut off the stems and cut them into pieces 3-4 cm longer than the microphone handle.
4) Wrap the handle with double-sided tape.
5) Secure the stems of roses to tape - in a circle.
6) For reliability, wrap the decorated handle with floral wire. Twist and trim the ends.
7) Wrap the top of the portaquet holder with double-sided tape.
Glue the rose leaves onto the tape (I got it in one layer - there were too few leaves on the flowers, try to get two, one a little higher, the other a little lower).
9) Place the floral sponge in place, snap the lid on and secure it in a couple of places with pieces of wire.
10) Decorate the handle with ribbon - very tightly, in two layers. Secure the lower end of the ribbon with two tailor's pins, and the upper end with a couple of stitches using pink thread.
11) Cut a piece of lace, wrap it around the handle and sew the edges with a blind stitch. Secure the pendant with thread and needle.
12) Trim the stems of all flowers at a distance of 5-6 cm from the buds. For ease of use, place the porta bouquet maker in a small glass jar. Form the base of the bouquet from the roses, starting at the top and moving down. Press the flowers carefully, holding them under the bud so as not to damage them.
13) Add eustoma in between roses.
14) Place pink alstroemeria in a circle at the top of the bouquet. Be especially careful with it - the stems of this flower are quite fragile.
15) Cut several short branches of gypsophila and decorate the bouquet with them in any order. This delicate flower will add airiness to your work. Add longer ruscus branches at the bottom.
The wedding bouquet, delicate and harmonious, is ready. Thanks to the floral foam, it will remain fresh without water for about three days.
Benefits of the plant
The Peruvian lily has many advantages, for which florists adore it. The biggest advantage is its exotic appearance, which allows you to create original compositions.
Its other advantages include:
- Good compatibility with other plants, which makes it possible to create a variety of combinations.
- A rich palette that allows you to use flowers for different themed weddings and at any time of the year.
- Long lasting durability and unpretentiousness. They will remain fresh and beautiful even during the winter ceremony, and after it they will delight the bride for a long time.
- Plants are available year-round, so they can be used in any season.
- Lack of odor, which is a plus for girls intolerant of strong scents.
A girl can independently create a wedding accessory from Peruvian lilies for her wedding. It's pretty simple. Plants need to be collected together and given the desired shape. This is not difficult to do, since the inflorescences have wavy edges and are often asymmetrical. After this, the leg is wrapped with ribbon to match the buds.
Symbolism
Even in ancient Greece, the rose was revered as the flower of Aphrodite, symbolizing eternal love. Young Greek women wore wreaths of roses because they were sure that such decorations attracted good fortune and helped them get married safely.
Interesting! Europeans learned about the Peruvian miracle of nature only in the 18th century thanks to the Swede Alströmer, who brought the wonder from sultry Peru.
The history of alstroemeria also goes back to ancient times, but the birthplace of this elegant flower is the sunny shores of Peru. Even the Incas especially revered the flower, considering it the personification of life and the sun, everything that exists on earth. They claimed that the magic contained in the flower could melt even an enchanted cold heart, awakening love, hope and faith in it.
Combination of roses and alstroemerias:
- speaks eloquently of sublime feelings for the chosen one;
- loyalty, sincerity of the girl’s nature;
- expresses her creativity and desire for originality;
- personifies the tenderness and hidden energy of the creator.
In addition, each shade carries an additional meaning:
- yellow buds symbolize stability and the desire to gain confidence in the future; yellow is believed to attract good luck and wealth;
- purple can tell about the enthusiastic, stormy feelings that a girl experiences towards her chosen one;
- pink, on the contrary, speak of gentle, calm, stable and all-consuming feelings;
- red represents passion , a riot of emotions;
- white - unity of souls , swan fidelity.
