|Wedding brooch-bouquet|

– a fairly new trend in the world of fashion for brides. This worthy alternative to a wedding bouquet was invented and first created by American florist Amanda Heer. This is not a brooch instead of a bouquet, it is a bouquet of brooches, ribbons, beads or rhinestones.

There are a lot of variations, so thanks to this bouquet, the image of any bride will become unique. You can even decorate it with jewelry.

What indescribable tenderness:

You can order a spectacular brooch-bouquet for a wedding or other significant event from a professional designer. However, if you wish and have certain skills, it is not so difficult to create an original bouquet of this type yourself. Miniature brooch bouquets can be prepared as a gift to those invited to a wedding. Fashionable floral brooch arrangements are also used in interior design.

As a sample, you can take photos and master classes from the Internet, or embody your own creative ideas and fantasies when creating a brooch-bouquet. Before turning to a master or doing your own creative work, think over the style of the future composition, draw a sketch, select suitable materials, and prepare tools.

The basis of a brooch-bouquet is usually a foam ball or half a ball with a holder or in a bouquet holder. For the composition, only satin flowers (usually roses), only brooches and other jewelry are used, or fabric and jewelry are combined in accordance with the creative concept. Bouquets of brooches are decorated with organza, ribbons, beads, rhinestones, jewelry crystals, synthetic colored stones, etc.

Advantages

Artificial materials, unlike rather fragile natural flowers, are strong and durable. The bouquet will survive being thrown to your girlfriends, the harsh frost of a winter wedding or the direct rays of the sun at a summer celebration, and after that it will be able to delight you for many decades to come.

You can also order it in advance to free up time on the eve of the wedding for more important matters. If the bride is keen on needlework, then you can make such a bouquet yourself, saving a lot of money and putting a piece of your love and warmth into the composition.

During the ceremony itself, there is no need to constantly put such a composition in a vase and monitor the condition of the petals.

Another reason why brides pay attention to fabric flowers is that they definitely will not cause allergies or headaches, and will not overpower their favorite perfume with their aroma. Satin or chiffon ribbons are available in such a huge palette of colors that it becomes possible to create the most fantastic compositions - even blue roses or lilies that do not exist in nature.

What to prepare:

  • foam hemisphere;
  • a leg from a porta bouquet maker (can be replaced with a suitable cardboard tube);
  • chiffon or veil (colors: azure, deep blue, white);
  • satin ribbons for decorating the foam base (white or cream and blue);
  • white beads;
  • artificial pearls;
  • brooches;
  • decorative pins;
  • paper for patterns;
  • scissors;
  • lighter;
  • glue gun;
  • lace braid, ribbons and other accessories for decoration.

How to make a brooch bouquet:

Step 1. Prepare the patterns. To make flowers you will need three circles. Diameters: 2.5; 4.5 and 5.5 cm. If desired, the flowers can be made smaller or larger by cutting out patterns of the appropriate diameters.

Step 2. From folded white, azure and blue chiffon in several layers, cut out the details for the required number of flowers. For a standard hemisphere with a diameter of 16-18 cm, you will need approximately 15 chiffon flowers.

Step 3. Quickly melt the prepared circles with a lighter. This must be done carefully, so that the thin fabric does not have time to start burning.

Step 4. We will collect flowers from chiffon circles of different diameters. To imitate natural petals, we will place circles of fabric one on top of the other with a slight offset. Connect the petals in the center with a strong thread.

Step 5. Decorate the centers of the flowers with artificial pearls and white beads. You can also use small round brooches for the centers.

Step 6. Approximately the same number of flowers - 15 pcs. - we’ll make it from blue satin ribbon and decorative pins. Wrap the edge of the tape around the hairpin. Attach with hot glue or sew. Wrap the ribbon around the pin, bending and tucking the edge at regular intervals. From time to time the tape needs to be fixed with thread or glue.

Step 7: Mark a shallow indentation in the center of the flat side of the foam hemisphere. Lubricate with hot glue. Insert the leg of the portaquet or a cardboard tube into the recess (the edge also needs to be lubricated with glue). Let's press tightly.

Step 8. Decorate the base of the brooch-bouquet. Apply a drop of glue to the edge of the hemisphere. Secure with white satin ribbon. Draw a thin strip of glue along the center of the tape. We secure the tape around the entire circumference of the hemisphere. You can additionally glue a lace drapery on top (with a slight indentation from the edge).

Step 9. Let's step back from the circle formed by the ribbon and lace, about 1-1.5 cm. Apply drops of glue to the foam plastic, and overlap several blanks of blue petals.

Step 10. Cut out a disk from white cardboard. In diameter it should correspond to the undecorated part of the porta bouquet. In the center of the disk we will make a neat hole for the stem of the brooch-bouquet.

Step 11. Using a glue gun, attach the edge of the blue satin ribbon and the edge of the lace braid to the cardboard circle. By stretching both ribbons through the center of the circle, we decorate it. At the end of the work, secure the edges of the tapes with glue. You can also add several flat rectangular brooches to the decor of the bouquet holder. The disk, decorated with ribbons, is securely and neatly glued to the foam hemisphere.

Step 12. Decorate the stem of the bouquet. Glue a small square of white satin to the bottom edge. At the top we decorate the leg with lace trim. The holder is overlapped with a white satin ribbon.

Step 13. Cover the convex part of the hemisphere with flowers. We recommend that you first attach the flowers not with glue, but with pins, in order to evaluate how well the brooch-bouquet looks. Then, by removing each flower from the pin one by one, the entire composition can be secured with glue.

Step 14. Decorate the finished composition with brooches and other jewelry accessories. It is better to additionally fix the jewelry with hot glue. They do it as follows. Glue is poured into the clasp of the brooch. Then, by passing a miniature stud pin through the lock, the brooch is securely attached to the foam.

Decor

When adding jewelry, the main thing is not to overdo it , because the accessory must be luxurious, but not steal all the attention.

Pearls go well with ribbons made of any material, while pearls that are either contrasting or only slightly different in tone are acceptable. In the first case, you will add accents to the composition, in the second - tenderness.

Transparent rhinestones or crystals look no worse, creating an atmosphere of chic and gloss. Lace ribbon, draperies made of material that differs greatly in texture - all this will also make a wonderful duet with delicate fabric flowers.

A variety of feathers will create a delicate, airy look; such elements are especially harmonious at retro weddings.

Artificial butterflies, birds, and bears are interesting as a single large accent of the composition. Moreover, they can be made from almost any material, including non-standard ones - from yarn, felted felt, dried flowers, plastic, wood, iron. Charming figures can also be created from simple wire, if necessary, wrapped in fabric or painted with acrylic.

Decorative pendants that reflect the wedding theme are also pretty, both among the flowers themselves and as a decoration for the leg.

Brooch bouquet of sequins, ideas with photos

Assembling a beautiful bouquet of brooches consisting entirely of sequins is not something every craftswoman can do. This is a rather painstaking process that takes more than one day. More often, sequins are used as decoration and to create some elements of a brooch composition. For example, individual flowers are made from shiny, matte and transparent sequins, the centers of flowers, the veins of leaves, the edges of bouquets, and the holders of porta bouquets are decorated.

Duplicate accessory for a wedding

Even those brides who want to follow traditions and appear at the celebration with an accessory made of fresh flowers often consider artificial options as a backup bouquet. It will allow you to maintain the tradition of throwing a bouquet to your girlfriends, but at the same time preserve your own composition of fresh flowers, collected with such love and attention.

The most important thing in a duplicate bouquet is lightness, the absence of sharp traumatic parts and reliable fixation. Otherwise, flowers made from ribbons are already much hardier than their living counterparts, which means you don’t have to worry about crushed petals or flying buds.

The most stylish combination is a backup, as similar as possible to the main bouquet, but more modest in size. For example, if the leading composition consists of large roses, then the ribbon flowers are made the size of bushes.

A non-standard, exquisite accessory will enliven the entire celebration, making even a traditional classic wedding original. Such a choice will emphasize the good taste of its owner, and if done independently, it will also highlight the talent of the needlewoman.

For brides who attach great importance to signs, an artificial bouquet is also a real godsend, because it is believed that the longer the bouquet stands, the longer the happiness will last. Tapes can be stored without deterioration for an eternity.

Wedding brooch-bouquet of cream and turquoise roses

What to prepare:

  • turquoise satin ribbon - width - 2.5 cm; length - 2.5 m;
  • champagne-colored satin ribbon - width 2.5 cm; length ≈ 6 m;
  • glue gun;
  • foam ball with holder - diameter 18 cm;
  • tailor's pins, pencil, scissors, lighter;
  • matching brooches and other jewelry decor.

How to assemble a bouquet of brooches for the newlyweds:

Step 1. Let's make rose petal blanks. To do this, cut the ribbons into identical rectangles, 6 cm long. In total, for the wedding brooch-bouquet based on a foam ball (18 cm in diameter), we will make 61 roses: 47 turquoise and 14 champagne. For each flower you will need 12 satin pieces (petals).

Step 2. Fold the corners of each satin piece on one side to the center of the opposite edge. We fasten the petal by melting the edge with a lighter, as shown in the photo. This must be done very quickly and carefully so that the fabric does not ignite. Secure the edges of the petals with hot glue.

Step 3. Let's make roses. Apply hot glue to the bottom edge of the first petal. Let's roll the workpiece into a roll. We also grease the second petal with glue and wrap it around the first. We will attach the remaining ten rose petals in the same way, as shown in the photo. In order for the finished flower to look natural, the petals need to be attached with a slight offset. We cut the fabric at the base of the finished roses evenly. This will make it easier to attach them to the bouquet holder.

Step 4. Decorate the foam ball with a holder with a champagne-colored ribbon. You can optionally supplement the satin (at this stage or upon completion of the work) with lace, braid with embroidery, or rhinestone ribbon.

Step 5. Let's assemble the composition. Let's start forming a brooch wedding bouquet from the top point of the base ball. Secure one champagne rose in the center with hot glue. Next, we will arrange all the flowers in concentric circles.

Step 6. Let's make a circle of six turquoise roses. Below them, at equal intervals, we will fix three champagne-colored roses. Fill the remaining gaps with turquoise flowers. In a similar order, we will cover the entire surface of the foam ball.

Step 7. Glue artificial leaves between the flowers. We use ready-made decorative sheets or make them ourselves from green satin ribbon, fishing line and beads, fabric and sequins. You can complement the brooch-bouquet with beads, rhinestones, and several elegant brooches.

Step 8. Decorate the leg of the bouquet holder with an elegant satin bow. Cut two rectangles from the ribbons: one turquoise - 23 cm long, one champagne - 16 cm long. Fold the edges of the ribbons towards the center. Apply a few drops of hot glue to the areas of their joints. Carefully connect the edges of the ribbons. Let's make a bow - glue a champagne-colored ribbon in the center of the turquoise one.

Step 9. Let's make a decorative bridge for the bow. Let's cut out another rectangle from the satin ribbon. Color: turquoise or champagne - your choice. Length - approximately 6-7 cm. Glue it across the bow (in the center). Connect the edges on the wrong side. Secure with glue. We will trim off the excess satin. Decorate the lintel on the front side with rhinestone mesh.

Step 10. Glue four narrow satin ribbons to the back of the finished bow: two champagne and two turquoise. We cut their edges diagonally and lightly melt them with a lighter. We decorate with thin strips of rhinestone mesh.

To decorate this wedding brooch-bouquet, you can use not only satin, but also any other material suitable in shade and texture. For example, veil, tulle or velvet.
