Mansion layout
The marriage registration takes place in the luxurious aristocratic scenery of the von Derviz family nest with exquisite bas-reliefs and elegant sculptures. The wedding palace on the English Embankment is the only one in St. Petersburg that has not one, but two halls for official celebrations. The state rooms are located on the pretentious top floor. A luxurious suite of three halls looks out onto the Neva. A favorite among photographers, the Grand Staircase is illuminated by a huge stained glass window and a massive crystal chandelier. The fireplace plays a purely decorative role.

It is advisable to arrive at the palace 30 minutes before the official registration time. This half hour is necessary for paperwork and photo sessions. Don't worry if you are late, you will definitely be scheduled on the appointed day. Guests await the ceremony separately from you; they will be invited into the hall by the registry office staff. Remove the covers from your passports (witnesses do not need passports), the rings will be taken from you before registration. At the moment of exchanging rings, we hold the bride’s bouquet low and pass it to the groom (when the bride puts the ring on the groom), so as not to obscure the photographer’s angle. At the moment of congratulations, give flowers to witnesses. After the ceremony, the photographer organizes group photos and a meeting of the newlyweds. Remember - according to the rules of Palaces and registry offices, scattering petals, exploding firecrackers, etc. is prohibited. This is usually resolved by paying a small amount to the employee.
First floor
When the impressive entrance door of the Registry Office No. 1 of the city of St. Petersburg opens, visitors find themselves in a small hall with mirrors. On the left is the passage down to the dressing room, quite narrow and steep. On the ground floor there are elegant Pink, Blue and Walnut living rooms; they are used as waiting rooms for ceremony participants or as buffet halls. The buffet service is handled by an outsourcing organization. Ceremony restrooms are only available on this floor.

Take trolleybus number 5 or bus 3 to “Konnogvardeisky Boulevard”, then walk for four minutes.
By buses 22, 27, 100 b, minibuses K169, K306, K350, K-6K - to the “Truda Square” stop, then a five-minute walk.
Take bus 24 to “1st and Kadetskaya lines V.O., corner of Universitetskaya embankment”, then 12 minutes on foot. By buses 7, 47 - to “University Embankment, corner of 1st and Kadetskaya lines V.O.” and walk another 13 minutes.
Take bus 2 to the Teatralnaya Ploshchad stop and another 15-minute walk. By bus 1 - to "A. S. Nalichnaya Street”, then walk 15 minutes across the Blagoveshchensky Bridge.

Wedding Palace No. 1, or as it is also called the Griboyedovsky registry office, is located in the very heart of Moscow. The ancient mansion in which the Griboedovsky registry office is located was erected by the famous architect Voskresensky for a wealthy merchant at the beginning of the last century. In this institution, the first celebrities to get married were V. Tereshkova and Yu. Gagarin. Nowadays, most celebrities also prefer the Griboyedov Civil Registry Office.
