Comfort and warmth: do-it-yourself chamber wedding in a country house

Often, organizing a wedding event requires significant financial investments. But since the only constant in the world is the gap between the rich and the not-so-rich, a couple cannot always afford to rent a luxurious restaurant, the best toastmaster and a bouquet of one hundred and one roses for special services. That is why the bride and groom have to make do with a very modest ceremony, and therefore they hold the wedding in a narrow circle in their home. This is no worse than if you just spend your last money on a restaurant.

DIY wedding preparations

We decided that we would hold the wedding with family and friends on separate days. The wedding with friends was arranged in May, and preparations began in February. We thought through everything down to the smallest detail, but it wasn’t very difficult - we ourselves work in the wedding industry and know how to make it beautiful and convenient. We held a gathering and a banquet at Sasha’s parents’ house. It was completely new, and as soon as the snow melted, we began to improve it (paint the walls, clean the area, lay the lawn); my parents helped a lot here.

Sasha built a fence, laid a lawn, and with his best friend they built a canopy under which the wedding dinner was held. I thought out the decor of the table down to the smallest detail: in the middle of it there was a path of olive branches and tall candles, we bought dishes at Ikea, my mother helped sew linen napkins, and the decorator made a beautiful table setting.

Ribbons

Tapes open up enormous scope for imagination. With their help you can make an arch, decorate the podium, chairs, stairs and ceiling. Color combinations can also be absolutely anything: from delicate pastels to all the colors of the rainbow. And what is important: this is one of the most budget-friendly methods of decoration.

In any case, a combination of several colors looks better, even in close tones. As for the thickness of the tapes, it can be anything. The thinner ones flutter beautifully in the wind, but you can handle the wider ones much faster. Fresh flowers and green plants go well with ribbons.

It is quite possible to combine ribbons of different widths. But it’s better that the length is the same for the entire composition. This will make the decor look more elegant. By the way, the combination of satin ribbons with tulle, sequins and lace looks great. But it’s better to choose from one color scheme so as not to overdo it with accents.

Ribbon bows are one of the most versatile chair decorations. They look very gentle and sophisticated, especially in light colors. The only point is that if you want bows, they should be the same and neat. If there is no time left for this, it is better to simply tie the ribbons in a knot.

Instead of ribbons, you can use pieces of fabric. For example, linen. It is perfect for a rustic ceremony. You don’t even have to iron it: slight negligence is in trend now. To make the composition look more elegant, you can add fresh flowers or beautifully signed cards.

What is cottagecore?

Imagine yourself in a village on a sunny summer day... You are reading a book on the bank of a river in the shade of a spreading tree. Or you walk through a fragrant meadow, collecting a bouquet of wildflowers. It is possible that you just picked strawberries and are now putting them on plates. Introduced? This is cottagecore - pastoral, nature, serenity and rustic motifs.

Please note that although the style is based on a rural lifestyle, it is an idealized, “polished” village. You will not find old barns, tedious work in the garden or milking a cow. There are only clean houses, relaxation, beautiful clothes and delicious food.

Zara Home

How can you protect yourself as much as possible from force majeure by planning a wedding in a country house?

Ksenia Korennaya – creator and director of the “Nuances” event studio: - Write a list of them in advance and try to provide a solution for each, have it with you and connect its implementation if such a situation arises.

Veronika Zhukova - creator and decorator of the VZ Decor studio: - Do your work honestly and professionally. Talk honestly about the difficulties that have arisen and possible problems, if any. And, if possible, resolve these issues in advance.

Irem Dvoryaninova-Ananyeva - wedding planner: - It is possible to protect the client and yourself in only two ways: a correctly drawn up agreement with the owner of the cottage with a detailed appendix to the agreement, where absolutely everything is taken into account. And a full in-house team: from cleaning and catering to decorators and artists. And, of course, the house acceptance certificate: any scratch on the wall must be registered.

Checkboxes

Again, a simple way to completely transform a space. Flags can be made from fabric or again from cardboard. In this case, it is better to leave space between the parts so that the garland is more flexible. Don't skimp on quantity. To make the hall look truly festive, there should be a lot of flags. Or they need to be combined with other hanging decor. For example, light garlands.

Flags can be safely used at other events. But the inscription Mr&Mrs or Just Married can remind you that this is a wedding. They can be placed on the wall behind the young people, at the entrance or above the candy bar.

Don't be afraid of simple materials. The matting will look great in a wedding decoration in a rustic style. Beautiful decor is not necessarily about luxury and pathos. The main thing is that the overall style can be traced throughout the design and is in harmony with the wedding venue.

Traditional equipment

  • Wedding invitations serve to notify guests;
  • To avoid confusion and confusion with seating, special seating cards are used. An ideal solution for celebrations with a large number of guests;
  • Garlands should be chosen in floral or lighting form;
  • What is a wedding without a bouquet and boutonniere? Each newlywed must have personal attributes;
  • Candles are needed for the altar and room;
  • Buy glasses and champagne. Everyone can create decor for wedding glasses that will highlight the celebration;
  • To receive gifts in cash equivalent, you will need a storage system.

You should maintain the same style for all decorative components. It would be absurd to single out an object against the background of the others. It is advisable to use common motifs in pattern, color, and texture of materials.

Pay attention to examples of wedding floristry and decor that were made by people like you.

Menu and wedding cake

The cuisine at such a celebration is similar to home, the menu includes dishes familiar from childhood that evoke warm memories: vegetable salads, baked potatoes, pies and rolls, “just picked” fruits and berries. Kvass, compote or juices are suitable as drinks. If the venue allows, a traditional banquet can even be replaced with a picnic.

The cake can be anything you want, but let’s share our favorite decoration idea, maybe you’ll like it:

Pompoms

New! You can decorate the wedding hall with your own hands using pom-poms. Fashionable, stylish, inexpensive...

Pompom decoration

It’s not difficult to make such wedding pom-poms with your own hands, we offer you photo instructions:

Winter decor

Winter decor definitely provides plenty of room for imagination. The theme of snow is played out well. It's easy to make snowball garlands. To do this, you can use regular cotton wool, again securing the snowballs with hairspray. Or use artificial snow in balloons.

It's hard to imagine winter decor without pine cones. Like mini pumpkins, they make great place card stands. Such natural decorations usually do not need additional decor, so we would recommend leaving them in their natural form without bows or rhinestones.

A very simple and easy-to-make decor is tree cuttings. It is better to take thin branches, as they are easier to manage. There are countless options for exactly how to use them. From candlesticks to coasters.

And finally, we move on to the simplest, year-round, and at the same time quite effective decor option - branches. If you use LED strips, you don’t have to do anything extra with them. This will already be beautiful enough.

The branches can be placed in vases throughout the room, decorated with them on the table, and even used as chandeliers. Do not spare light: no other decorative elements can decorate a room better than candles or lights.

If the main part of the wedding takes place during the day, the branches can be painted white, gold or silver. Since this is a winter theme, the branches can be decorated with delicate snowflakes. Just no balloons: after all, the themes of the New Year and weddings should not overlap.

Fairy lights

The most affordable options are garlands made of thick paper or cardboard. You can cut out identical figures using a stencil and connect them with a thick thread. Options that have shiny or iridescent elements always look advantageous.

It's very easy to make garlands of hearts and stars. But if you want something more unusual, you can cut out not flat, but voluminous shapes. For example, flowers that need to be slightly squeezed towards the center along the edges so that they resemble real ones.

Another win-win option: cranes using the origami technique. The technique is easy to master, so making them won't take too much time. In addition, they can be combined with simpler figures. For example, hearts or circles.

Photos

Many weddings now have a special photo zone. A large frame that imitates a Polaroid photograph will look impressive. Your guests will have funny photos as a keepsake, and you can prepare everything for the photo zone in less than an hour.

To do this you will need very thick cardboard or a thin sheet of plywood. You need to cut a hole in the center in the shape of the photograph and make a commemorative inscription on the bottom. For example, the names of the bride and groom and the date.

And, of course, there is nothing more touching in decorating a hall than printed photographs of the bride and groom. And not from a specially held photo shoot in advance, but from a real archive: joint trips, holidays and ordinary weekdays.

But hanging full-length photographs of the newlyweds around the hall is not the best idea. Yes, this technique has been used before. But now it looks outdated and too pretentious. So it’s better to stick with the small corner version with photos.

Balloons

A selection of DIY wedding decor, of course, couldn’t do without balloons. This is a quick and budget-friendly way to decorate any room. But to make the decor look like professional work rather than amateur work, you need to choose a certain style.

First, you definitely need to purchase helium. The balls should float and not lie on the floor. Secondly, transparent options look very elegant. Plus balls in tulle with ribbons and sparkles.

Our unusual wedding at the dacha. Lots of photos)

UPD In the fourth post I added a slideshow from the photo

Hi all! My name is Katya) I haven’t written much on this forum, but I’ve read a lot. I hope my report will be useful especially to those who are planning a wedding in the country. There are not many of them, but I know that they exist?

In March or April of this year we decided to get married. August 22 was supposed to be the 3rd anniversary of our relationship. I decided that it would be symbolic to get married on this date or as close to it as possible. It turned out on August 19th. There was just the necessary time for preparation. For the first time in my life, I thought about what kind of wedding I would like. I gave free rein to my imagination, and this is the picture she painted for me. Summer. Nature. Green trees, flowers, fresh air, sun. Live cheerful music, pipes, saxophone, lively musicians. I'm wearing a beautiful long light dress. The groom is handsome. We are very happy and laughing. The guests around us are happy for us. Everything is fun and easy. This is how I generally imagined it. There are few specifics. But I realized what kind of atmosphere I wanted and that the wedding should definitely be outdoors. We immediately thought about the dacha. The parents of the groom (Artyom) have a large plot of land near Zaraysk, which is about 150 km from Moscow. At first we rejected this option, because... very far. We thought about all sorts of cottages, tents, etc. But we still came to the conclusion that we would never be as comfortable as at our own dacha. Plus there's a lot of space there. And, of course, it was much cheaper. The two worst problems were traffic and weather. The most terrible ones, because we could not influence them in any way. To reduce traffic jams, we decided to sign on Friday instead of Saturday. And before lunch, that is. before the traffic jams, go to the country.

So, PREPARATION . Basically it started two months before the wedding after submitting the application. Before that, however, we bought a dress and rings. And in theory, I was already well versed. I knew what I wanted. All that remained was to implement it.

the dress for very long. I visited three salons and continued to scour the Internet, because... I didn’t like anything that was available categorically. I accidentally came across it on the Internet, saw it and realized that I had to take it, because it’s just mine, and I couldn’t find a dress that would suit me better! Now I'm selling it for cheap ?

rings , without stones, engravings and all that. We chose white gold. “Bronnitsky Jeweler” store at the factory in Bronnitsy.

I thought about invitations . About two months. There were many ideas, but I didn't like any of them particularly much. For some reason I didn’t want classic paper invitations. Artyom came up with the idea to make a website. Often, especially in America, they create a wedding website on which they post information about the desired gifts. Each guest notes what he wants to give from the list. Thus, the newlyweds receive the ordered gifts, which, moreover, are not repeated. This idea seems kind of mercantile to me. After all, we don’t invite guests because of gifts and would be happy to welcome anyone, and in general I love surprises. And we just made an invitation site. These are pieces from it)

There was the text of the invitation, the address of the registry office, the address of the dacha, maps and, of course, our funny faces. Everything was done in one day. Artyom made a virtual invitation card with the site address on it, and we sent it to our potential guests.

I really wanted to do everything as much as possible with my own hands. And the hot time for handmade . I made decorations for the area. Checkboxes. There were a lot of them. They were everywhere.

Flags with letters. On our tent (we spent our wedding night in a tent) it was written “heaven in a tent.” After the rain, only “paradise” remained

The birdhouse toilet says "restroom")

Paper pompoms. There were red pompoms above the table. They were all washed away by the rain that fell on the eve of the wedding. But there are photos from the preparation, when we hung them up.

Blue pom-poms hung in the “photo zone.” For some reason, most of them survived. Although they were made from the same paper as the red ones.

Paper flags. They moved towards each other a little. But it’s great that they didn’t get wet at all from the rain.

Heart garlands

Love birds. One of its wings flew off from the rain and curled up into a tube)

Birds on which guests wrote wishes and hung them on the “wishing tree”

The signs were made together with Artyom

Pompoms for napkins

Mustaches, beards, lips, eyebrows and one small hairy mole for funny photos

Decorations for the car. My brother's car. He was our driver on our wedding day.

Mom sewed a pillow for the rings from her wedding dress, which, however, was already cut up by that time

My father-in-law made a very long table and benches himself. I really enjoyed making all sorts of beautiful things, I had a lot of fun! It’s a pity, of course, that a lot of things were ruined by the rain. But I'm glad that this was all it took.

We are very friendly with the Internet and are used to buying everything in online stores. It's faster, cheaper and easier. Sandals and a blouse for the evening were bought for me, as well as suspenders, a bow tie and shoes for the groom in Korea. The groom's trousers and shirt were bought on ASOS.

beautiful jewelry in one of the bride’s reports. I realized that this was what I wanted, found out the master’s coordinates and ordered the same ones for myself. Zoya link

a stylist for a long time and painfully. I hardly wear makeup. That's why it was scary. I chose Tamara Surinova (link) and was pleased. The result can be seen below)

When we started thinking about the issue of food and serving , I suggested using catering services, but almost no one supported me. And most importantly, Artyom’s parents, who were supposed to meet us at the dacha, were categorically against it and wanted to cook everything themselves. As a result, of course, they suffered a lot, but they were happy) With strangers: cooks, waiters, the atmosphere probably would not have been so homely. At first they wanted to rent the dishes, but the price was not much lower than the sale price. And if you take it for several days, it’s cheaper to buy it. We chose the simplest white plates, cups and everything else made of transparent glass. There are no ready-made tablecloths as large as our table for sale. I bought ordinary white calico and made two tablecloths from it: for a large table and for the table on which the samovar stood, as well as napkins. I had to buy a three-tier cake stand. Usually they are given along with the cake, but we didn’t have any cake. We came up with the idea of putting Dunkin Donuts on a stand. The shape resembled a three-tier cake. We sell cake stand.****

Photographer . This is certainly a very, very important question. And we were lucky. Even before we had to begin the painful search for a photographer, I came across a report from one of the brides. I really liked her photos. The report included the photographer's coordinates. It turned out that the price is quite low for Moscow, and the photos are exactly to my taste! I noticed that in this area, as in many, the price does not always correspond to the quality. Some ask for unreasonably large fees. Well, of course, everyone has different tastes. Christina is close to me in spirit, we are about the same age and it was very easy to work together. As I wanted, the pictures turned out very lively, conveying the atmosphere of that day. I highly recommend Christina link

Musicians . This was an integral part of our wedding. There had to be musicians! We wanted a jazz or brass band that played fiery music that would make it impossible to sit still. I have only seen such groups on the streets of Europe. It seemed to me that only street musicians were like that. We searched and searched, but there was nothing even close to suitable. From jazz music one came across either dull saxophonists or “classical jazz”. Artyom started searching in Kontik and they were successful! I don’t know how he found them, but we were both wildly delighted! I already thought that such musicians do not exist in nature. But they exist! Mosbras link Nowhere was it stated that they play at events, only in the streets and concerts. Artyom wrote to them, and they happily agreed. Which we were very, very happy about!

Bouquet . I spent a lot of time on it. At first I discussed options for a long time with one florist. When she had already placed the order, it turned out that she could not get peony roses. I got upset and found another florist, or rather, she found me herself on this forum. We finally settled on peony roses. I am very pleased with the bouquet. Made by Olga Pashkova

Gifts for guests I thought about making some beautiful soap for everyone first. But I have already given it to most of the guests. So it wouldn't be an unexpected surprise. This option was rejected. In any case, I wanted to make something with my own hands, and not buy it from a store. And I came up with an idea! Gingerbread men! ? The idea was fun. We decided to make each guest a gingerbread man that looked like them. I've never made anything with gingerbread dough before. I tried 3 recipes. For about two weeks we had gingerbread for dessert every day? Finally I liked the dough and started making little people. There were supposed to be 25 of them. As a result, I probably made 40 of them, because the dough was very fragile and their arms and legs kept breaking off. I did them not at once, but over several days. Then they painted them together with icing and packaged them. But the torment was not in vain! The guests appreciated my creative approach. Some didn’t even want to eat the little men, they kept them as souvenirs. Although they were very tasty and aromatic) Is this Christina, our photographer?
