Meshchansky Civil Registry Office: contacts and work schedule

Location and parking features

The building of the Meshchansky Civil Registry Office was built for the Moscow merchant L.I. Long in 1770 according to the design of V.I. Bazhenova. Then, over time, the Dzerzhinsky Civil Registry Office was opened in this house, but in 1991 it was renamed the Meshchansky Registration Department. This government agency belongs to the Central District of Moscow. The building of the registration establishment is ancient and has preserved the atmosphere of a bygone era to this day. There is a small parking lot on site, but if there is no space, you can leave your vehicle near the registry office on Mira Avenue.

History of the Civil Registry Office

The building in which this department is located is located in the Garden Ring area. During the time of Tsarist Russia, it was a merchant mansion. His project was drawn up for L.I. Dolgov by the famous architect V.I. Bazhenov, who was his son-in-law.

Before 1812, the building looked different, but after the fire it was restored and rebuilt. Today the mansion is included in the list of architectural monuments of the 18th century. It retains the characteristic features of early classicism.

Until 1991, the building housed the Dzerzhinsky branch. Later, in its place, the Meshchansky Civil Registry Office of Moscow was opened, which is rightfully called one of the best for registering a marriage.

Civil registry office layout

When you enter the building of the Meshchansky registry office, you will plunge into the atmosphere of the 18th century. A large grand marble staircase, a beautiful mirror in an antique frame, exquisite stucco, majestic columns and large windows create an excellent backdrop for wedding photographs. The halls are designed in cool blue tones. In the guest area there are soft sofas, behind which guests of the ceremony can sit. If you invite an experienced photographer to take photographs, you will get wonderful pictures. You can order professional services on our website.

Photographer services - 5,000 rubles.

Depending on the wedding date, I can personally conduct a photo session at the registry office, or I can recommend another good photographer from our team. To check the date, send a message at the bottom of this block. An hour-long package of work for a photographer at the Meshchansky registry office includes:

  • Photo session in the waiting room before the wedding ceremony. We take a beautiful series of staged portrait and story shots. We play up the main staircase with large mirrors. The first waiting room with cozy sofas. The second waiting room with columns and a decorative fireplace. Other decorative elements to suit your look.
  • If there are guests, we take group photos with friends and relatives.
  • Filming of the ceremonial registration of marriage takes place in a reportage format. At this moment, the photographer cannot openly interfere with what is happening. Therefore, before entering the hall for the ceremony, we once again talk about how everything will go.
  • A set of obligatory photographs of the mural: the bride and groom listening to the speech in the center of the hall, the mural while sitting at the table, exchanging wedding rings at the counter, presenting the marriage certificate, congratulating the guests, leaving the registration hall.
  • Depending on the availability of guests, we film the exit from the registry office through a living corridor.
  • All photographs undergo high-quality color processing and light natural retouching while preserving skin texture.

Interior

The ceremony hall is quite spacious; it can accommodate about 20 people. The interior of this room is dominated by warm beige shades. Luxurious curtains, gilded lamps and a large painting on one of the walls give the room majesty and elegance. The ceremonial hall in the Meshchansky registry office is an ideal place for a magnificent celebration. It has a specially designated area for the orchestra and beautiful carved furniture for the newlyweds.

Recommendations

  1. The parking lot in front of the Meshchansky registration department is small; there may not be enough space for everyone. Therefore, it is worth thinking about where to leave the car in advance.
  2. A crowd of people near the wrought iron staircase can make a photo shoot difficult.
  3. It is better to arrive at the wedding in advance, about half an hour before the ceremony begins.

The Meshchansky Civil Registry Office is located in the center of Moscow, not far from the Garden Ring, in a small, cozy mansion - an architectural monument of the 18th century. The Meshchansky Civil Registry Office has been operating here since 1973.

Advantages of the Meshchansky Civil Registry Office:

  • Convenient car access

The convenient location of the Meshchansky registry office greatly simplifies the access of cars from the Garden Ring to the central entrance of the building. The courtyard itself is small, but you are allowed to use curbside parking on Mira Avenue.

  • Beautiful interiors

The interior decoration and interiors of the Meshchansky registry office create an atmosphere of solemnity and celebration! The halls and registration area are bright and spacious! In 2011, the Meshchansky registry office underwent renovations; the waiting rooms on the 2nd floor and the ceremonial registration hall were renovated.

One of the main decorations of the Meshchansky Department of the Civil Registry Office can be considered a chic wide staircase made of white marble, decorated with a huge mirror in a carved frame made of Karelian birch. Climbing the marble staircase, you find yourself in the state rooms, designed in a classical style, with columns in the arched openings, and stucco moldings and beautiful chandeliers on the ceilings.

Another unusual decoration of the Meshchansky registry office is an ancient forged black staircase, created in the century before last by an unknown master, made in the style of openwork Kasli casting. On the second floor there is a spacious waiting room; after renovation, a decorative fireplace appeared here. The halls on the second floor are connected by high arches.

In all the premises of the Meshchansky registry office - against the backdrop of stairs, fireplaces, arches, you can take stunning wedding photos!

The reception hall is decorated in warm colors, predominantly beige, gold and white. There are only 2 chairs for guests. On the wall, against which the young people exchange rings, a monastery is painted. After registration, the young couple and guests are invited to the video viewing room and offered to watch a film shot by a videographer and purchase it on a voluntary basis.

What I remember most about the Meshchansky registry office is that the wedding of people very close to me took place here! Cute and small, the porch is unusual, we drove up without any problems, left the car nearby - only bright and positive memories!

We were at the Meshchansky registry office today, October 8th. The ceremonial registration hall was closed for renovation; the builders were listening to Nashe Radio there) We were at a wedding ceremony, which was held in a non-ceremonial atmosphere. It was a little hard to find a place to take a photo, but we managed. A forged decorative staircase that rests on the ceiling, a large staircase that goes from the entrance to the 2nd floor, near the windows, near the entrance on the street. Getting to the registry office is convenient, it’s a 5-minute walk from Prospekt Mira metro station, very close to the Botanical Garden of Moscow State University (Apothecary Garden), you can take a walk there.

After the renovation, the Meshchansky Registry Office became cool, very beautiful and bright. The wedding took place on January 21, 2012, there were a lot of people there in the morning. It’s just quite small, cramped and not very comfortable, the layout resembles an apartment, you have to rush back and forth - submit documents, order a photographer, etc.

After the renovation, they began to film very often in the Meshchansky registry office, the last time they filmed was on March 24, 2012, I fell in love with it, the interiors allow you to take diverse wedding photographs inside the registry office while waiting for the ceremony, the Botanical Garden of Moscow State University is nearby, there is an apothecary garden, it is convenient to get from the metro.

The Meshchansky registry office is very beautiful, several halls, beautiful curtains, lamps, 2 staircases - from the 1st floor to the second and on the second floor a decorative one. And located in the very center of Moscow. All liked it!

The Meshchansky registry office is the best registry office in the world! We liked everything so much, the people there are kind, both during the application process and on the wedding day itself. They filmed us and immediately after we became legal spouses, they showed us how it happened. We bought the video, it’s a memory for life! Pigeons were released near the exit; they were offered right there. There is a wardrobe, where we were able to leave all our things and champagne. You can't bring champagne to the registry office!

From October 1, 2013, the Meshchansky Civil Registry Office in Moscow will be closed again for renovations and the registration of marriages in a ceremonial setting will temporarily not be carried out there. The planned completion date of the renovation is January 20, 2014. During the renovation, the registry office will operate as usual and receive the population on all issues, except for registering a marriage in a solemn setting.

The metro station closest to the Meshchansky registry office, Prospect Mira - Ring, is closed for repairs from 05/30/15 to 05/30/16. You can walk from the radial metro station - the walk is about 5 minutes longer and you need to cross Prospekt Mira along the passage. The avenue itself is also being repaired (July 2015), if the parking lot at the registry office is occupied, then you won’t be able to park there, the first row is dug up and blocked.
