Requirements for Muslim wedding dresses, important selection criteria

The wedding attire of a Muslim bride is directly dictated by Islam, according to the laws of which a girl must personify modesty and restraint. The portal www.svadbagolik.ru will help you understand all the details of the image of a Muslim woman: dress, headdress, makeup, etc.

The East is a delicate matter: the bride’s outfit

Muslim weddings have their own centuries-old foundations and customs, which are reflected in the couple’s decoration.
There are two types of ceremonies: separate and joint. In the first case, the ceremony is carried out under the motto: “Boys - to the right, girls - to the left,” invited men and women celebrate in separate rooms. In a narrow group of women, some European liberties are permissible in the bride’s attire, including a reasonable “mini”.

Rezeda Suleyman

Read what wedding dresses are in fashion now here.

When walking together, the bride is strictly limited by Sharia norms. The attire of a Muslim woman differs fundamentally from European models: it is forbidden to even partially expose the body, since the young woman cannot show her back, shoulders, arms, décolleté, or neck to anyone except her husband.

Islam prohibits exposing hair; the bride's head is hidden under a veil or a traditional scarf. In a number of eastern countries, custom requires that the brushes also be hidden, then the girl must wear gloves.

The best option may be a lace wedding dress with long sleeves and a stand-up collar.

Muslim women are strictly prohibited from:

  • any cuts and cuts;
  • transparent and translucent fabrics;
  • “masculine” styles and cuts that fit the figure;
  • “screaming” colors;
  • abundance of decor.

Grace Kelly's stunning wedding dress, modest and at the same time luxurious, will win the heart of any European or Eastern girl.

Features of Muslim women's outfits

Before you go to a bridal salon and buy a nikah dress, you need to know its characteristic features. It is extremely important that the outfit is discreet and hides the feminine silhouette from prying eyes. All parts of the body, with the exception of only the feet, hands and face, are covered with clothing. It is unacceptable for a Muslim woman to have her arms, neck and shoulders exposed.

Info! Islamic wedding dresses are characterized by maximum length, the presence of a closed, closed top and long sleeves, but at the same time they amaze with incredibly sophisticated decor. The decorations in this case are very unusual. Embroidery is appropriate, which makes the Muslim outfit a real masterpiece. When sewing it, expensive materials of the highest quality are used. For example, satin and silk fabrics are most often used. The choice of translucent canvases is strictly prohibited.

There are no color requirements. You can choose both classic snow-white clothes and wardrobe items in other tones. The most popular this season are peach, powder, silver and gold Arabic wedding dresses. Even rich shades are appropriate. For example, preference is often given to red colors.

The main condition is that the girl’s head is completely covered. Therefore, a hijab or veil complements the dress.

Muslim clothing intended for weddings has the following features:

  • no matter what season the celebration occurs, the entire body must be covered;
  • Tight-fitting silhouettes are prohibited;
  • rich, sophisticated decor;
  • no restrictions on colors.

Taking into account the type of outfit, it will have a number of distinctive features. True, the basic requirements are met in any case. With an uncovered head, bare shoulders and arms, a girl simply cannot appear at a celebration.

Current colors and prints

Islamic dresses are considered the standard of modesty, but oriental beauties do not limit themselves to colors. Rich shimmers allow girls to stand out in the crowd and make their looks interesting and original.

Initially, all models were only black. Due to regular wars, accumulations of many unworthy men on the streets, girls were forced to limit themselves to black clothing, which did not allow them to stand out on dangerous streets and alleys. Men usually wore white clothes. Peace has arrived in most countries, but the fashion for black products has not gone away, only today they cannot be called faceless.

The formal style of a delicate peach color is suitable for young girls. Olive or dark blue will highlight your bright personality. Each product helps express the character of a woman. Fabrics in heavenly or emerald shades emphasize a calm, harmonious nature.

Fashionable youth prints are not found in the attire of the Muslim beauty, but they have not lost anything from this. Designers create products with classic ethnic designs and ornaments. Oriental styles feature graceful color transitions, bizarrely shaped patterns, and abstractions. In the sets of young girls you can see prints in the form of inscriptions in English, but they have a deep meaning.

Muslim wedding dresses in the photo

The scope of what is permitted in the style of a wedding dress depends on the nationality professing Islam. In some places, large deviations from the rules are allowed, and in others, the bride is required to wear only a white dress.

Sometimes a wedding dress becomes a work of art. It can be embroidered with expensive beads, pearls, lace and colored precious stones. The most popular models are fluffy and straight dresses.

The laws of the Koran are strictly taken into account when making the dress. The fabric is hand-stitched with gold threads, and patterns of guipure, lace and beads repeat oriental motifs.

The ornament is carefully selected and often has a sacred meaning, symbolizing the girl’s submission, fertility or other virtues. A headdress that completely covers your hair is required.

This can be a scarf made of silk or satin, embroidered with stones, beads or bright threads. You can complement it with a veil with a chiffon train.

Fashion trends 2022

Almost every girl, regardless of religion, wants to follow fashion trends.

In 2022, designers presented several trends that will suit Muslim brides:

  1. Gentle colors. This season all shades of white, pink and beige will be relevant. The designers decided to emphasize the charming and defenseless nature of girls, which undoubtedly attracts men. At the peak of popularity is an ivory and dusty rose wedding dress.
  2. For brave brides, designers have provided several atypical shades for wedding dresses. It's sky blue and coffee. Pastel pink tones can be used as accessories.
  3. Retro fashion. Wedding dresses in the style of the 60-70s are already presented in many fashion salons. The designers decorated them with modern fabrics, patterns and embroidery, making the dress look original.

Outfit as a suit

We should also highlight an ultra-modern trend for girls who are bored with traditional outfits.

Wedding two-piece suits, jumpsuits, and even pajamas, complemented by short or floor-length skirts, are one of the main trends of 2022.

The models are presented in both a minimalistic style without any special frills, and a style decorated with patterns and embroidery from head to toe.

The fabrics chosen for suits are the same as for wedding dresses. Most often it is silk, satin and chiffon. The decor can also be anything you want.

Lush and narrow options

The wedding dress of a Muslim bride should not be tight-fitting, but slightly outlining the silhouette is not prohibited.

There are 2 main styles:

  1. Lush wedding dress. A solemn, multi-layered and luxurious fluffy dress will adorn a bride of any size. The skirt made of chiffon gives the image tremulousness and airiness.
  2. A narrow or fitted wedding dress is suitable for bolder and more modern brides. It has some similarities to the mermaid style, but still not as tight. The secrecy of the outfit gives the bride mystery and elegance.

Any of the options can be formal or elegant. Strict implies a minimalist finish without patterns or decorations.

It emphasizes the modesty and submissiveness of the future wife and is more common among tougher and more demanding peoples.

The elegant option involves an endless number of patterns, embroideries and decorations. But the main thing here is not to overdo it so that everything looks harmonious.

Pre-wedding Muslim traditions and rituals

In the world of Islam, it is not without reason that Muslim weddings are celebrated on a grand scale. Representatives of this religion believe that a rich celebration promises family happiness and prosperity for the newly-made family.

Every family carefully observes Muslim wedding traditions, emphasizing the good upbringing of the bride and groom. After all, if a family does not comply with the customs of the Islamic world, then the chances of marrying off a daughter or marrying off a son are reduced to a minimum.

Search for the bride

The tradition is still relevant when the future wife for a guy is chosen by his mother or older sister. But before that, the groom describes in detail what kind of girl he would like to see as his future wife.

The guy lists:

  • Desired height of the bride;
  • Describes the figure of a girl;
  • Level of education;
  • Thrift;
  • Status and position of the family in society;
  • Religiousness of the bride;
  • Tastes and interests.

The description of the prospective bride allows relatives to navigate the tastes of the young man and understand what kind of girl to look for.

By the way, Muslim men, unlike Western men, value women “in uniform” more. There is even a tradition that the prospective bride must show her relatives (or the groom himself) her ankle. If the leg is plump and decorated with jewelry, this indicates the high status of the family. A thin ankle, without jewelry and with calluses, on the contrary, is a sign of poverty, which means it reduces a girl’s chances of getting married.

Meeting future spouses

As soon as a suitable girl has been found, the young people meet. According to the tradition of a Muslim wedding, the acquaintance takes place in the bride's home. The potential spouse, surrounded by his family members, comes to the girl’s parents’ house with expensive gifts and jewelry, demonstrating his financial capabilities.

When meeting for the first time, young people are allowed to exchange only a few phrases, and in strictly religious families, they are only allowed to evaluate each other visually.

After the first meeting, the girl and her family are given a week to think about it. After careful consideration and weighing the advantages/disadvantages of a possible husband, it is the girl who makes the decision whether to get married or not. And seven days later, the groom’s family finds out the girl’s decision.

In case of refusal, the gifts received must be returned to the guy.

The fascinating tradition “Henna Night”

This custom is an obligatory component of the wedding scenario among Muslims. The ceremony takes place immediately before the wedding day. Mehendi, or henna design, is applied to both the bride and groom.

Drawing is an art. Only those women who are truly happily married are allowed to perform the ceremony. Each curl of the painting carries its own meaning, so the process of applying mehendi is taken very seriously.

A girl's henna is applied to her palms and feet. To do this, choose the highest quality paint. After all, no matter how long the drawing will show off on your hands, the already established spouse is not allowed to do household chores.

An equally important point: Muslim wedding traditions require hiding the groom’s initials in the patterns. Afterwards, on their wedding night, he will have to find them. It is believed that this helps young people get to know each other better.

The groom, in turn, has the pattern painted on his palm. He spends his last bachelor night with friends, without violating the customs and traditions prescribed by a Muslim wedding.

Styles and models

Islamic outfits are not at all boring and monotonous, as many might mistakenly think. They come in several styles for different occasions.

Elegant

Elegant evening dresses for Muslim women amaze with their variety and originality.

Let's look at some of the most attractive models:

  1. A long floor-length dress, decorated with openwork lace and a thin belt, loosely cinched at the waist.
  2. Silk abaya with long sleeves, gathered in the form of lanterns at the top. It has no cutout, its collar completely covers the lower part of the neck, shoulders and chest.
  3. The peplum outfit also deserves special attention. The upper part is lace. Under the openwork lace there is a dense natural fabric. The peplum is made of similar fabric. Its cut is asymmetrical - short in the front and down to the middle of the knees in the back.

Homemade

According to the strict rules of the Muslim world, only in her own home can a woman look seductive and luxurious. The husband is the only person who is allowed to contemplate the open arms and seductive cleavage of his wife. If you are going to welcome male guests at home, a woman must wear closed clothes and a scarf on her head.

The most popular dress for home is called Jalabiya. Its style is somewhat reminiscent of a Japanese kimono. Jalabiya is characterized by:

  • V-neck;
  • loose batwing sleeve;
  • beautiful embroidery along the waistline.

There are other styles of homemade Islamic clothing for women.

An attractive and at the same time practical option is a two-piece outfit, which consists of:

  • floor-length underdress, with short sleeves and a small cutout in the neckline;
  • an upper cape that can be put on at any time if necessary.

Especially for home prayer, Islamic women wear it from a distance. This modest model in dark colors with a scarf sewn to the collar is worn over a jlabiya.

Casual

Dresses for everyday wear are characterized by a simple and loose cut. There are no fancy patterns or embroidery on such clothes. There are several styles of everyday Islamic attire.

Young women prefer to wear a long dress that resembles a sweatshirt. It is sewn from combined fabrics. The material from which the sleeves, wide collar and hood are made differ from the main material of the product.

The basic element of clothing, which is suitable for Muslim women of any age, is an abaya with a yoke with long sleeves, slightly flared at the bottom. Young fashionistas prefer to combine this outfit with blazers, jackets and thin straps. Mature women, as a rule, wear it without additional accessories.

The most popular models of everyday Muslim women's dresses are complemented by a collar of the same cut as a polo shirt.

Wedding

A separate category consists of dresses for nikah - in other words, wedding dresses. Thanks to the harmonious combination of sparkling rhinestones, beads and sequins, they turn out to be very festive and luxurious. The main emphasis in such dresses is on the piety of the newlywed, so even the slightest hint of vulgarity is unacceptable.

Traditional wedding dresses for Muslim women cover their figure as much as possible.

They are characterized by:

  • long sleeves;
  • maxi skirt;
  • moderately loose fit;
  • high collar;
  • hijab, which can be complemented with a veil.

Opaque fabrics are used to sew Islamic wedding dresses. The only exception is the veil, which may resemble a familiar European accessory.

Modern wedding dresses for Muslim women are available in several styles. Laconic and sophisticated A-line dresses highlight the charm of oriental brides

They emphasize the slimness of the figure, but do not focus undue attention on female forms. Gold or silver embroidery is most often used as decoration, in harmony with a snow-white dress.

Lush closed dresses with multi-layered skirts made of delicate translucent chiffon are no less impressive. Such outfits are decorated with embroidery, rhinestones or beads.

Myths and reality

Everyone has heard about polygamy; the words “if I were a sultan” can be sung by any romantically inclined man, but not a Muslim. The Koran allows to have several wives, but the husband is obliged to fully support each of them and provide her with separate housing. If a woman works, she is free to spend the money she receives as she sees fit, without denying herself anything and without thinking about the future.

Second weddings can also be expensive; just one of them can cost the groom more than $5,000. Calculate the cost of gifts for relatives, offerings to the bride... All obligations towards the future wife are strictly prescribed in the marriage contract. The list may even include a woman’s demands for annual precious gifts on special occasions.

Following Sharia law, the husband is obliged to fully provide for his family, respecting the needs of his wives and children, and also take care of relatives along all lines. Responsibility and a huge financial burden are not for everyone, and many Muslim men either marry once or generally prefer freedom from marriage obligations.

As for the law obliging women to cover their faces in public, in our time even Arab Muslim women wear European clothes under their veils and can show them off at a party, and not just at home. In some Muslim countries, young girls are allowed to wear knee-length skirts over trousers. Regarding the hair covering – the hijab – visible changes are also taking place. Often it is replaced with an ordinary headscarf or even a ribbon, and in secular Muslim countries (Azerbaijan) many women generally go bareheaded. Modern trends have become noticeable in the surroundings of weddings, but the main traditions have remained intact.

Turkish dresses for Muslim girls

According to Turkish women, Muslim clothing gives them self-confidence, raises self-esteem and allows them to take their place in society.

Turkish Muslim dresses are divided into:

  • elegant;
  • domestic;
  • everyday.

Elegant dresses are made from a variety of materials. They come in all sorts of colors and are decorated with prints and ornaments. They should be floor length, wrist length sleeves and a completely covered neckline. It is recommended to choose clothes for everyone in a practical color. Most often, Turkish women prefer: black, gray, dark blue or burgundy shades.

Styles with a wide collar, sleeves and a hood are considered popular. Such things are somewhat reminiscent of sweatshirts, and are fashionable wardrobe elements. For every day, you can also purchase a product with a yoke, slightly flared at the bottom. This style is suitable for all ages. Young girls can complement the look with jewelry, a thin belt and a fashionable jacket or blazer. A mandatory element for each dress is a scarf that completely covers the head and hair.

Also at the peak of their popularity among Turkish women are suits consisting of a tunic and trousers. The length of the tunic reaches the knee or ankles.

Varieties

The limits of what is permitted in choosing a Muslim dress for a wedding are determined by each nationality professing the religion of Islam. For some, deviations from strict requirements are possible, while in others a girl can only choose a closed white dress.

But, despite the restraint of the style of Muslim wedding attire, the bride’s dress is a work of art that is often passed down from generation to generation. The dress is embroidered with pearl beads and precious stones, and embroidered with silver or gold threads.

The silhouette is carefully selected. At the same time, the strict outfit subtly emphasizes the femininity of the Muslim bride.

A few secrets of choosing a Muslim wedding dress:

  • slender girls will appreciate the “fish” silhouette that outlines the hips and narrow waist;
  • Brides with curvy figures should choose dresses with full skirts.

Traditional

The classic dress of a Muslim bride combines a straight, slightly fitted silhouette, long sleeves, and a closed neckline. The not tight, but delicately elegant silhouette very carefully emphasizes the female figure. It is in this form that a girl can look both strict and femininely attractive. The dress is made from high-quality, expensive fabrics (satin, silk) with the addition of textured openwork fabrics (for example, guipure).

The traditional image of a Muslim bride is impossible without a skillfully embroidered silk scarf (hijab) that hides her hair and ears.

Lush multi-layered

Airy, amazingly beautiful dresses with a multi-layered chiffon-based skirt will help you create an attractive, stylish and very fashionable look. The skirt of the dress is made of chiffon, gathered in layers in the shape of a rosebud. In combination with embroidered pearls and beads on the bodice, you get a very stylish, amazingly beautiful outfit.

A-line

The fitted bodice and widened hem of the dress help to gracefully and very delicately outline the graceful figure of the bride. The skirt widens from the waist. A-line dresses are preferred by Muslim brides, noting the amazing combination of modesty and grace in such a dress. The outfit is decorated with gold or silver embroidery and complemented with a long train.

Fitted

A fitted lace dress amazingly emphasizes the youth and innocence of the bride. Covered shoulders and arms soften the eye-catching lines of the female figure, making the bride's image more elegant and sophisticated. It is worth noting that the fitted silhouette is extremely trendy this season. Precious stones and beadwork add luxury to the dress. Convex decor creates a unique three-dimensional effect on clothes. The fitted silhouette is often complemented with a fish skirt. This image looks very gentle, without violating the strict Muslim canons of women's clothing.

Decor options

Muslim wedding dresses, the photos of which are striking in their beauty, are distinguished by their rich decor. Decoration with precious stones, beads, rhinestones and pearls, sewing with gold and silver threads create shimmering three-dimensional patterns throughout the dress. Guipure lace fabric embroidered with beads is especially popular among Muslim brides. The decor can be either one color or multi-colored. This helps create amazingly beautiful intricate patterns.

European trends in wedding fashion make small adjustments to the outfit of a Muslim bride. The outfit can be complemented with a neat stand-up collar (ideally emphasizing the beauty of the neck) or a light corset (emphasizing the bride’s thin waist). Muslim brides also liked asymmetrical sleeves. Elongated at the back and slightly shortened at the front, they allow you to delicately demonstrate a girl’s graceful hands without violating strict rules.

Fabrics and textures

Muslim women treat the fabric of their future dress with trepidation. Firstly, the fabric should not be see-through. Before buying a model, wise Muslim women, taught by the bitter experience of unsuccessful acquisitions, advise examining the fabric through the light of a lamp. If the hand shines through the material in the light, the same will happen to the legs of Muslim women on a sunny day.

Among the materials, oriental beauties value medium and high density cotton, staple, wool, and thick linen. Naturalness plays an important role for Muslim dresses, because a closed model will be worn not only in cool weather, but also on hot days.

The denim fashion has been around for quite some time. Denim dresses are increasingly appearing in Muslim collections and captivating with their stylish simplicity, naturalness and comfort. These models are perfect for cool weather if they are made of dense material. In summer, dresses made of thin denim are simply irreplaceable in the life of a young Muslim woman; they perfectly absorb moisture and allow the skin to breathe.

Distinctive features

Islamic women's clothing has always been unique, as most are hand-sewn to order. Representatives of the Muslim religion are prohibited from wearing pants or trousers, the same goes for short skirts. Therefore, traditional clothes are floor-length.

In addition, girls are prohibited from showing off their body curves, which is why most costumes are extremely loose-fitting. The main feature of each dress is long wrist-length sleeves.

The variety of models is divided into two types:

  • Jalabiya is a style created for daily wear. A woman wears such a costume at home or at informal small events. In the case where a lady appears wearing a jalabiya at a festive event, it means disrespect.
  • Alabiya is a formal dress. This option is characterized by a more detailed cover, using not only plain fabrics. In Alabiya, a girl is allowed to appear in public places, on holidays or other important occasions.

Rules for creating an image

To get a perfect composition, you need to learn how to combine an outfit with other elements. A harmonious ensemble will be achieved with the participation of the following elements:

  • belts made of beautiful material or thin precious metals;
  • sophisticated bracelets;
  • exquisite tiaras.

Choosing outerwear is also easy. Feminine coats and fur vests look great with such outfits. Beautiful short fur coats will be an equally good solution.

A handbag in this ensemble will look out of place as it can weigh down the bow. This accessory is contraindicated when using an abundance of jewelry. Also, you should not use this detail with a complex cut of the outfit and a large number of lace elements.

Modern outfits for a Muslim bride

In the modern world, designers have tried and sewed a large number of different outfits for Muslim women.
They are distinguished by romance, tenderness and elegance. To decide on one outfit, you have to choose based on several indicators:

  • color;
  • style;
  • headdress.

All elements must be combined with each other, and the end result will be the image of a gentle, but at the same time luxurious bride.

Color

A woman who professes Islam and is getting married should not adhere to a white dress at all. This is more of a European tradition. In Turkey, red has long been considered the traditional wedding color. Nowadays they are moving away from this custom a little, but nevertheless, a fairly small number of brides choose muted tones.

Mostly the shade choice ends with bright colors. It can be blue, pink, red, silver.

The color itself should ultimately create the image of a gentle bride, so when choosing a bright shade, you should dilute it with delicate decor and jewelry. In any religion, a bride is, first of all, a delicate and sophisticated flower.

Style

Wedding dress styles:

  1. The first place in popularity has always been and remains the straight, slightly fitted style of an Islamic dress - in it a girl will look feminine and at the same time elegant. The straight-cut, floor-length outfit subtly draws the eye to the refined figure. It can be made of textured fabric such as guipure. In this case, a thick insert is made under it so that the dress does not show through.
  2. Mermaid - Islam over time slightly relaxed its rules and brides were allowed to add a fish style to the classic straight silhouette. As a result, the strict image was preserved, but a chic flared hem made of flowing materials was added.
  3. Lush style - the bride in it looks like a rose, which is simply adored in Eastern culture. You can especially emphasize the similarity by choosing an outfit in delicate pink or peach shades. The splendor is achieved thanks to the multi-layered bottom; the top in this case is made of light silk or chiffon.
  4. A-silhouette is a traditional outfit that meets absolutely all the rules. At the same time, its uniqueness lies in the fact that it modestly and unobtrusively emphasizes the figure and its sophistication.

Hats

An integral attribute of an oriental beauty is a headdress. It is strictly forbidden to go out into the world without it. The wedding was no exception.

As an accessory it is suggested to use:

  • hijab;
  • handkerchief;
  • veil.

The entire head should be covered. According to faith and tradition, the scarf should not be visible; all hair should be hidden under it.

In this case, Muslim brides actively decorate their headdress. It is acceptable to attach a tiara to a closed hijab or decorate a scarf with stones.

In any case, in the end the image should not be too pretentious and vulgar.

The following should be named as fashion designers:

  1. Elie Saab - managed to combine European and Muslim culture. He did not stray from tradition, bringing a little celebration to the image of the oriental beauty. His dresses add a stand-up collar and a slightly fitted silhouette. Thanks to this, the image of the bride turned out to be more sexy and at the same time romantic.
  2. Irna La Perle is a Muslim designer who is in great demand. Her dresses are feminine. She achieved this through the use of delicate fabrics and colors. At the same time, it does not deviate at all from the canons of Islam.

Jewelry and headdress

The main accessory that complements the image of a Muslim bride is the hijab headdress. According to strict canons, only the future spouse and immediate family are allowed to see the hairstyle of an Islamic bride. During the wedding celebration, the head must be covered with a hijab. This lightweight scarf is made from flowing silk fabric. The hijab is skillfully decorated with embroidery with gold threads, lace, and precious stones.

As an option, instead of a hijab, the bride’s head can be covered with a wide scarf or scarf, or a veil with a veil.

For a wedding, an Islamic bride can choose the following accessories:

  • a small elegant bouquet of flowers;
  • a miniature handbag, matching the dress in color and decor;
  • jewelry: bracelets, rings, necklaces. Fine jewelry decorated with precious stones not only decorates the bride’s outfit, but also determines the status of the groom’s family. Earrings are included in the bride's outfit only if she wants to show them to her husband. To outsiders, the earrings are hidden under the fabric of the hijab.

There are no strict rules for choosing shoes for the wedding look of a Muslim bride. The main thing is that it is comfortable (the wedding ceremony is quite long) and closed (the shoes support the overall style of the Muslim wedding attire).

Classic and restrained does not mean boring and faceless. Despite existing restrictions and prohibitions, Muslim wedding fashion has many faces and gives every bride the opportunity to choose the perfect wedding dress.

Designers, brands

Every bride wants to wear a dress on her wedding day that is inherited from her mother or grandmother, because this is considered great pride. Therefore, women are very careful about their outfits and save them for their children.

Today, European culture makes some adjustments to the tailoring of Muslim dresses: a stand-up collar is used to emphasize the beauty of the neck, or a light corset makes the waist more defined.

Leading Arab designers are developing stunning designs for Muslim wedding dresses. Although the creation of dresses is based on a strict style, this does not prevent the use of embroidery of traditional ornaments, guipure ribbons and lace, and sewn-on stones as decoration. This is quite a difficult job, because the sewing and decoration of dresses is done by hand.

Elie Saab

Elie Saab is one of the world's best designers. It became very popular thanks to the Spanish wedding brand Pronovias. Elie Saab creates exquisite evening dresses in different styles. He was born in Lebanon and was able to achieve everything on his own through perseverance and a love for tailoring.

Having become famous in his homeland, he managed to conquer Paris, where he opened his own wedding dress salon. His name has become famous all over the world, and today his brands are chosen by Hollywood stars and other world celebrities. When creating wedding dresses, Saab uses expensive natural stones, pearls, crystals and lace for decoration. Each outfit is the embodiment of luxury, sophistication and brilliance.

Irna La Perle

Irna La Perle is an Indonesian designer whose wedding dresses are in great demand among residents of Muslim countries. She creates unique dresses with a conservative style, but makes them softer thanks to light fabrics, embellishments and drapery, which are not prohibited among Muslims.

Features of marriage registration

It would seem that it makes no difference where to register the relationship - in the spouse’s homeland or in your own country.

But it turns out that there is a difference, and a significant one.

A wedding taking place according to religious laws - in a church, temple, mosque, synagogue - does not make the union official, that is, not legally documented in any way; only a civil registration gives the rights inherent in spouses, including property rights.

In Russian federation

Legislation represented by clause 2 of Art. 156 of the RF IC states that for each person entering into marriage on the territory of the Russian Federation, the laws of the country of which this person is a citizen are applied, but only regarding consent to a union, marriageable age, restrictions, but not religious affiliation. This legislative act indicates that if one of the future family has Russian citizenship, then all laws of the Russian Federation are applicable to this spouse, and if the other half is represented, for example, by German citizenship, then legal norms can be applied to this candidate spouse German legislation only.

In this case, it does not matter at all what faith each of the couple professes.

It is important that the marriage is recognized in the spouse’s homeland, so you need to follow the rules for joining a union in another country. For example, there is a wide range of ages for a union to be valid: failure to comply with the age limit can lead to the marriage being declared invalid in the spouse’s home country

If there is a special agreement between the Russian Federation and the country of which the second of the couple is a citizen, then it is possible to register this union at the consulate, while Russian citizenship will remain with our person.

In a Muslim country

Of the Muslim countries, Turkey is the most loyal to marriage rights and responsibilities; here the legal model is close to Western European.

In other Muslim countries, such as Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, etc., polygamy is still recognized as the norm and there are strict rules that infringe on women's rights.

Marriage in a Muslim state does not require any registration; this procedure

simple and straightforward: an offer is made, which is accepted or rejected. A marriage contract is concluded by a man with each of his spouses separately. The rights in such a family, as well as the responsibilities, are completely different for the husband and his wives.

Property rights are recognized for representatives of a couple only separately for each.

In a Muslim country, marriage must go through the procedure according to the laws of this state - according to Muslim custom, otherwise the union will not be recognized. A citizen of the Russian Federation (of any religion) must ensure that upon returning to their homeland the union is also legal, so they should contact the Russian consulate in the territory of a Muslim country and appear at reception hours together with their other half, with documents. It is necessary for the union to be registered, which will be issued a document after being recorded in a special book.

The passport of a citizen of the Russian Federation should not have marks about the presence of a valid marriage, but in any case they will make a request and find out this, since the absence of official relations is one of the main conditions for registering a marriage.

Fashionable styles

The trend of the last 6-8 years has been attempts to combine European dresses with Muslim traditions. Muslim wedding dresses are mainly sewn in two styles: A-shaped silhouette and fishtail.

The advantages of the first option are that the product is fully suitable for religious traditions: there are no open areas, as well as unnecessary emphasizing of female charms. The problem of originality is solved in several ways:

  • Multilayer skirt. Layers of lighter transparent fabrics are added to the opaque base. The flaps either go in a circle, or there remains a triangular area without them in the front of the skirt.
  • Corset with embroidery. They practice floral and geometric patterns with silk (white, cream, light yellow), beads, and stones. The principle “the more glitter, the better” does not apply here, because it does not go with the girl’s modesty. The patterns are conceptual in nature and have a minimalist solution.
  • Wide sleeves. Guipure extensions are added to thick fabric sleeves. Together with a wide skirt, this option looks quite natural and festive.
  • Hijab decoration. The obligatory scarf, made in the same color as the dress, is additionally decorated with elements of a veil, precious stones, lace, but also without frills.
  • Long train. Since the skirt of a wedding dress is floor-length, the train is considered an interesting addition that does not go beyond the scope of the image.

The silhouette of the fish has not quite the usual outlines, since the dress should not be tight-fitting under any circumstances. The product is slightly tapered at the waist, but the skirt does not fit tightly around the buttocks. The fish is usually complemented with a silver or golden belt, embroidered with stones and beads.

Some fashionistas decide to experiment beyond the boundaries of what is permitted, for example, a fish tightly fits around the waist or long sleeves made of transparent fabric cover their arms. A girl whose wedding is being held behind closed doors (separately women and men) or with a predominantly non-Muslim crowd of guests can take liberties.

Color solutions

It is worth noting that the severity of the styles is compensated by the variety of colors. The bride is allowed to choose beautiful Muslim clothes in white, cream, soft pink, and pale blue. Tradition does not prohibit any colors, just the dress should not be flashy or vulgar. But there are brides who decide to wear red dresses with gold embroidery, styled like a traditional costume.

Existing approaches to using shades in a wedding dress are combined as follows:

  • without gradient formulas;
  • dress and hijab are the same color;
  • decor is possible, but in a discreet form, preferably 2-4 tones darker than the dress or in a silver or gold version.

European brides cannot boast of such a bold color approach to clothing as Muslim women. European cultural traditions emphasize shapes rather than colors.

Fabrics

To sew women's Islamic dresses, natural materials with a dense, opaque and non-stretchy texture are used.

Cotton

The fabric, based on plant-based cotton fiber, is pleasant to the body and has breathable properties, so it is ideal for a closed long Islamic dress.

Wool

Dense but soft wool has a warming effect and is often used to create Muslim clothing for cold seasons.

Summer and spring dresses for Muslim women are made from environmentally friendly and comfortable linen fabric.
