Decorating the background for the newlyweds - a fabric backdrop for a wedding

Anastasia Danilova Decor Studio > Fabric decoration > Decorating the background for the newlyweds - a fabric backdrop for a wedding

Our experience, the ability to see beauty in the simplest things, the ability to feel the client, as well as a serious material and technical base - our own fabric warehouse, allow us to offer customers exactly the decor for the backdrop that best suits their individual requirements. At your request, we will create a cozy and romantic corner for two or, on the contrary, we will make the podium pompous, solemn, arousing the genuine admiration of guests.

We select the design of the backdrop for the newlyweds, and not according to the dictation of trends

Trends, fashion - it's all good, But! It is not important! A specific couple, the personalities of the bride and groom, their interests, hobbies - that’s what comes first for us. We offer our clients exactly what is close to their spirit, what they live with, because a wedding is a celebration of two loving hearts, and not a demonstration of the decorator’s achievements. Unfortunately, not all designers do this. Many people decorate with as many new items as possible and show that they are in trend, although the client may not need this at all.

How to make a wedding screen with your own hands?

Of course, you can purchase a ready-made backdrop made according to all the rules. But if you want individuality, and you have enough time and some skills, you can create a beautiful screen with your own hands .

The frame can be either metal or wood, or plastic. The plastic design is, of course, easier to carry, but may not be stable enough if the screen is to be used on rough terrain. If skills in working with wood are not enough (you need to choose the right wood and carefully process all the planks so that guests do not subsequently pick splinters out of their fingers and do not sigh about snags on expensive fabrics of suits and dresses), a carved foam screen is an excellent solution.

The design of the backdrop does not follow any rules, but if it is intended as a background for photographs, the color of the screen itself should not blend in with the bride’s dress and the groom’s suit. Usually they stick to light contrast, shaded and complemented by decorative elements.

A designed screen should not draw attention to itself; it is just an effective and harmonious addition to the interior, a beautiful decorative background

As we have already said, there are no trifles in a wedding : you should not think that a made-up backdrop for the presidium or photo zone will “work” - this is, first of all, the mood of the young people themselves and the relatives and friends present at the celebration. Can’t make and decorate the wedding backdrop for the newlyweds themselves? Leave it to the specialists - from the sketches they will create any masterpiece that will delight everyone with its originality and beauty.

We do not impose our views on the customer - the client himself chooses the style and design concept

Unlike other companies that offer ready-made sets for backdrops or the solutions they are used to, when meeting a couple, our specialists are first interested in their preferences and wishes. If clients themselves cannot decide on the choice of background for the newlyweds, then in the process of communication we try to find out the interests of the bride and groom, funny facts from their lives, and the history of their acquaintance. Only after we understand what kind of people are in front of us, and what suits them and what is unacceptable, do we begin to offer design options.

Basic design rules

The presidium usually means not only the bridal table itself, but also the place behind it, as well as the area in front of the table. Fabrics, fresh flowers, lace, tablecloths, beads, and ribbons are usually combined to decorate it. In addition, the newlyweds' chairs are usually decorated in the same style as the podium.

Peculiarity! As a rule, the presidium is occupied only by the newlyweds, but sometimes witnesses or parents of the bride and groom can sit next to them.

There are other rules for the design of the presidium.

The main purpose of the presidium is to close the void behind the newlyweds, as well as to provide a beautiful backdrop for photographs. If the podium is located by the window, then usually the window openings are decorated in the same style as the table - with the same fabrics, bows, and ribbons. If there is a wall behind the young couple’s back, a backdrop is usually installed there. A variety of designs can be used as a backdrop, including large artistic canvases, but most often for these purposes a special structure (frame) is made of wood or metal, then draped with several layers of fabric and decorated with various decorative elements.

Expert advice! The presidium should be located in such a place that it is clearly visible to every guest.

We can decorate the background for the newlyweds at the wedding in 24 styles

“Do you know how memorable and special a Boho wedding can be?” And in our luggage there is a whole palette of styles to suit your image, temperament, character.

  • beloved by many classics, avant-garde, empire, baroque, retro;
  • light and relaxed Provence, country, shabby chic;
  • bright and colorful Moroccan, oriental styles;
  • fashionable today are rustic, chevron, Gatsby, eco-style;
  • thematic, color, subject, hobby weddings and much, much more.

What forms are there?

In the form of an arc or horseshoe

One of the most common and simple forms, it can be decorated with anything: flowers, balls, and ribbons. It is generally accepted that this option promises good luck and success to newly-made spouses. Therefore, it is perfect for couples who believe in folk signs.

If you have a classic wedding celebration, then it is appropriate to decorate the “Horseshoe” with flowers and white fabric, you can also add some bright satin ribbons or balloons. For the “Eco” style that is popular this season, decorate the accessory with tree branches and greenery. On the “Sea” holiday the following is used in decoration:

In the form of a square or rectangle

This option is a symbol of home, reliability, prosperity, prosperity, family comfort and hearth. A structure with a roof will protect the family from envy and the evil eye.

These arches most often turn out to be large and bulky, and therefore it is recommended to make them from durable metal or thick wood.

Heart shaped

Undoubtedly, the most romantic form for a wedding, which will once again emphasize the love, passion, tenderness and sincere feelings of the couple. In order for the “Heart” to stand steadily, the frame is made of metal-plastic, but sometimes it is replaced with another option - balloons, which are mounted on a specially equipped stand.

Enfilade

A peculiar series of arches, consisting of several identical shapes. They create a beautiful corridor, following one after another, through which the newlyweds solemnly walk to the ceremony site.

The enfilade can rightfully be considered the most luxurious option, which looks very impressive and symbolizes the endless happiness of a young family.

In the form of a circle

When choosing a round arch, a ready-made frame of the appropriate shape is used. It is most often decorated with flowers, greenery, ribbons, fabric, various vintage items, paper lanterns, lace and much more.

Shaped like the letter "P"

The U-shape is the easiest to make; it is only important to secure the base of such a structure well, for which it is best to use PVC or wood.

For an outdoor celebration, decorate the accessory with light fabrics - organza or a veil. For a “Russian folk” wedding, use chintz; for a “Retro” wedding, use velvet, silk or satin. Flowers, greenery, balloons, ribbons and much more are also suitable as decoration.

Alcove

Another variation associated with home comfort and warmth. The easiest way is to find a ready-made building and decorate it in the desired style. To decorate a wedding gazebo, use light, flowy fabric, organza and veil, bright satin ribbons, flowers and balloons are suitable.

In the form of doors or gates

Antique doors or gates will also look very interesting at your ceremony; you can decorate them with anything:

Great opportunities you never knew existed

To decorate the background for the newlyweds at your ideal wedding, we use:

  • a wide range of fabrics (chiffon, silk, brocade, organza, etc.), ribbons, bows;
  • floristry (live and artificial flowers, greenery, branches, ready-made compositions, bouquets);
  • decorative and spotlight lighting;
  • all kinds of decorative elements, jewelry, accessories;
  • symbols (curly cutting of letters, coats of arms, figurines, figurines, photo collages);
  • arches, columns (from compositions made of plaster, plastic, wood to openwork forged products).

How to decorate a table for newlyweds

The most important part of the presidium is, of course, the table where the newlyweds will sit. Sometimes this table is installed on a hill - for example, on a stage that already exists in the hall or on a stage specially brought and installed for these purposes. As a rule, the table is first covered with a tablecloth, and then they begin to drape it with fabric and decorate it.

There are many ways to decorate a table - in the simplest version, just take a beautiful tablecloth that will completely hide the table. Often, the outside of the table is draped with a white or light-colored folded fabric. On top you can throw a thin fabric (for example, tulle) of another suitable shade - purple, gold, pink, etc. Don't copy other people's weddings! From all the variety of ideas, choose those that you like.

The podium table for a wedding is usually decorated with the following materials:

  • fresh or artificial flowers;
  • fabrics;
  • lace;
  • fruits;
  • candles.

The area in front of the table can also be decorated with floor vases or baskets with artificial or fresh flowers.

There are a huge variety of ways to design a backdrop, a table, as well as the entire podium. You should not immediately dwell on the most common and banal options. Give free rein to your imagination and choose the design method that you consider most suitable for your wedding, and experienced decorators should help you navigate the variety of ideas.

Many varieties of backdrops to highlight your individuality

You can order a wide variety of backdrop designs from us: arched, rectangular, several tiers, with a canopy on top (visor), volumetric, modular. For those who want to really stand out, we can make a full-fledged “tent” with 4 legs over the table, decorating it inside with thematic elements, accessories, flowers, and additional lighting. No matter how unusual the idea is, our professionals will implement it in the best possible way.

Reliability for your peace of mind, no matter what happens

The backdrops we designed are very stable. They are extremely difficult to knock down or break. Unlike competitors, who often use speaker stands or a regular Joker frame as a base, which are prone to tripods tipping over or moving, we additionally strengthen the bases with 2 weights of 10 kg each. In our experience, the heavier the base, the better. At the same time, our structures are very easily and quickly assembled/disassembled and installed in any convenient place.

Comments

Cut the rail, make it 50 cm (at the bottom) and attach 1 m to it. Make an angle of approximately 50-60 degrees. If all the segments are light, then place these corners on the side of the door fasteners and they will fold.

She is very heavy, she will fall

It should stand straight. I didn’t even think about putting the load in the back...

Well then screw this triangle right away, the rack won’t work. Take boards 10 cm by 5 cm is enough,

We took a 5*5 beam, made a triangle at the bottom 60 cm, a height of 120 cm and a support somewhere with an angle of about 70 degrees. Not worth it, it outweighs it.

Well, if you just screw a metal disk to the bottom 60 cm. Or as the girl below wrote. We made it for the yard, took the thinnest lining, sanded and thinned the back to make it lighter. I didn't want any legs in front.

Who gives me minuses? Do I have personal haters?))

Tatiana! And it won’t, supports alone are not enough. COUNTERWEIGHTS! Cinder blocks, sandbags - in general, something heavy! We work with heavy structures, without counterweights - no way. I already wrote about this somewhere in the comments.

I’m new, I haven’t read it.))) I’m also inclined towards this.

Tatyana, for such structures we often use racks, at the base of which lie metal pancakes 60 x 60 cm, 5 mm thick. https://vk.com/wedding_fashon?z=photo169134316_420232913%2Fwall-65778717_3809 Pay attention to the backdrop. Its main part is an open wooden box - a very heavy structure. It is held in place by only two racks, which I described above. You need to make holes in the plywood, thread a wire through them and fix the plywood, pressing it tightly to the stand, twisting the wire.

Made from clapboard

Welded structure from iron elements of corners, etc. Only at the bottom the legs should also protrude forward, otherwise you may fall

The corners will be iron, but the rest will be made of timber. Legs, yes, they need to protrude. Oh girls. I've already broken my head. I'll do it and report back.

To be honest, I didn’t really understand your dimensions: 3 width and 2.5 height, right?

Nadezhda, it is generally 3 m wide and 2.5 m high, but because... heavy and for transportation, we will make it up in three parts.

Daria, where should I register them?

in the publishing settings. You spelled it wrong.

I made mine measuring 2x2m. The boards were screwed on the site with self-tapping screws. It took 20 minutes. They were easy to transport. My screen is not placed against the wall, since the wall also protrudes from behind as a counterweight, only horizontal and 1.5 m. My wall is very stable, even if there is a cloud on it it will not fall. Look on my YouTube. I told you how to do it.

Victoria, I saw your wall))), very beautiful. Is it easy for you? I stepped on it and made it out of clapboard, but it is very heavy, plus the decor on it falls forward, the wall itself outweighs it. I decided to put on a weight and weigh my legs down.

It is very heavy for me, since I made it from unedged boards, so that the aged boards are looked at. The counterweight is a 1.5 m horizontal floor made of such lcd boards

Victoria, I don’t have the opportunity to watch YouTube (((can I briefly summarize it here?

What is the problem? Triangles and weights are the whole solution, why does this option not seem suitable to you?

I think this is the most convenient option, but you need male strength, since a woman simply cannot lift 50 kg bags of cement. And I can easily assemble my board myself. Of course, it would be ideal to attach wheels to me so that this mini podium with a wooden wall can be easily moved on the site

The basic design of our frame allows you to avoid overpaying for landing with witnesses

It is very important that the backdrop is larger in size than the table of the young people. The maximum size of the classic rectangular structure that we make is up to 4 meters wide and up to 3 meters high. Moreover, we do not charge additional money for making a frame of this size. The bride can be sure that not only the young people, but also the witnesses will fit in the background, and the picture will not turn out “crowded.”

Do it yourself

But I have repeatedly encouraged you to create decorations for your celebration (and not only) with your own hands. This article will be no exception.

With such paper flowers you can easily and simply create the necessary decoration of the desired color and size very cheaply and quite original.

Another video that will help you learn how to curl beautiful roses. This is, of course, an offer for girls who know how and want to create beauty with their own hands. But you should take into account that in order to get a decent decoration you need to make a lot of small roses.

And if small details are not your thing, you can refer to this video to create huge, lush and very original paper roses

Honestly, I think that such decor can then be rented out, because many people will like such beauty. These paper flowers can be used to decorate not only the backdrop of the podium, but also the photo area, and the banquet hall as a whole.

We don’t skimp on fabrics for the backdrop – a more beautiful picture for the same money

The amount of fabric directly determines whether the result will be lush and rich, or meager and poor. It takes us at least 102 square meters of fabric to create an average classic backdrop. Then the material lies naturally on the frame and drapes beautifully and evenly. While most competitors, in order to attract clients, reduce prices for their services, making backdrops from only 25-30 meters of fabric.

Wedding Bride 2022

We must admit: few brides are ready to invest in wedding decorations. Everyone else prefers to spend money on other important preparation points, and decorate according to the residual principle. And this remainder is usually very small.

In this regard, an urgent question arises:

WHAT TO DO IF YOU HAVE VERY LITTLE MONEY FOR WEDDING DECOR?

First, let’s define what “very little” means.

The price range for decor today is as follows (relevant for large cities; Muscovites multiply costs by 1.5):

  • from 700 to 1000 rub. per guest - budget option
  • from 1000 to 2000 rub. per guest - average option
  • over 2000 rub. per guest - an expensive option

Thus, everything that falls into the “less than 700 rubles per guest” category falls within a tiny decor budget.

Your case? - Read how to do it!

Universal rules:

1. Don’t try to “colorize” the room.

If your banquet area is designed in an inappropriate (or even the opposite) palette, it is only possible to get out of the situation with dignity only with a LARGE budget for decor. All other options (and these are, as a rule, colored runners on tables and bows on chairs) will look clumsy. Therefore, knowing that you do not have enough money to decorate, try to initially choose a room in the colors that you like. Or choose an outdoor celebration. Or fall in love with what you already have with the colors you have. Otherwise, all attempts to fit an inappropriate palette into the room will be a failure and will only punch a hole in your already very modest budget.

2. Decorate only what is really necessary.

I'll list what's required:

  • newlyweds table
  • guest tables (central compositions)
  • arch for registration (if the ceremony is away)

This is the necessary minimum - more is possible, nothing less. You can spend money on any design and decoration of other areas (staircases, lounge, chairs, napkins, etc., etc.) only if everything necessary

, but the money remained.

3. Avoid budget eaters.

Newlyweds VERY often include unimportant items in the decor estimate, considering them for some reason mandatory:

  • Banquet chair covers. Needed only if the chairs are frankly ugly. (This does not happen very often.) To make it clear how much money you are throwing down the drain: the rental price for one cover without a bow is at least 50 rubles (and usually about 100 rubles). Multiply by the number of your guests. Bow - another plus 20-30 rubles per piece.
  • Backdrop for the newlyweds. Necessary in two cases: a hole in the wall and a window behind the table. The first is unlikely, the second can be curtained or the table placed in another place. Backdrops have long gone out of fashion and turn out really beautiful only if they are expensive. Wasted money - from 5000 rubles.
  • Rental of banquet textiles (runners, table skirts). Any adequate establishment that regularly hosts banquets also has its own textiles. Sometimes it happens that it is in poor condition - then, unfortunately, you cannot do without rent. However, as a rule, a restaurant or cafe provides quite adequate tablecloths, table skirts and even runners. Universal white or cream color. If you really want textiles in your wedding palette, rent only runners, they are the cheapest (about 100 rubles apiece). Well, look at point one!

By the way, one of the latest wedding trends is an almost complete rejection of banquet textiles (bare tables). You can use it ;)

4. Decorate with “large strokes.”

There is no point in “decorating” the table with one jar with one rose. The table will be filled with plates of food, and your “composition” will instantly get lost among them - as if it doesn’t even exist. Is it worth spending money on something that is not visible??? Each designed area should attract attention and catch the eye. If these are flowers in jars, there should be several jars, of different heights, colors, shapes, with different numbers of flowers, and it is better to add candles, books, and other objects to them. Even better is not to scatter the flowers in jars, but to make one large composition out of them in a beautiful vase. Most likely, it will cost you even less.

What should I do?

1. Give up decor completely.

This is the simplest and not always the worst way out of the situation. If you have a fairly beautiful banquet area in suitable colors, but don’t have extra money, it’s much better to do without decor at all than to try to stuff cheap paper flowers, balloons and other inappropriate things into the hall. This way you will only ruin what was originally good.

2. Get by with just floristry.

In my opinion, the best option. I won’t tire of repeating: flowers are appropriate always and everywhere! This is truly the material that (in the right hands) can transform any room! If you do not have the funds for full decoration, hire a mid-price florist. Order flower arrangements for your guests' tables and your table. A competent specialist will always tell you how to reduce the cost of floristry: select more affordable flowers, include more greenery in the composition.

3. Make the decor yourself.

The path is difficult and very labor-intensive. But some handicraft brides walk along it with pleasure - which is worthy of admiration. (By the way, for needlewomen we have a regular section with master classes on wedding decoration.) However, my advice: if you don’t want your wedding decor to look too simple and democratic, dilute it with floristry. Yes, I’m talking about the ubiquitous flowers again - but, dear brides-in-law, they really decorate well!)))) Another option is to make only part of the decor yourself, and still entrust the development of the design concept and the most complex details to a professional decorator.

4. Find a novice decorator who will design your wedding for free (“for your portfolio”).

Please note that in this case you only get the work of a decorator for free (selection, installation and dismantling of decorations). In any case, you pay for the purchase of flowers and materials, rental of items! In my opinion, this is the most “slippery” path: you will have to spend money, but a good result, alas, is not guaranteed. After all, the designer still has very little experience. It will take a long time and very carefully to look for such a specialist. And it’s better if your wedding is held by a decorator at least for the second time. And the most important thing is that there is mutual understanding between you and the specialist, so that your vision of how to decorate a wedding coincides. If there is no understanding, abandon this option or look further.

But this is NOT what you need to do:

1. Go for cheap materials.

These are balls, fabric and paper. Unfortunately, in our country only a few people know how to work with cheap materials so that it turns out BEAUTIFUL. You can be inspired as much as you like by wonderful examples of paper and balloon design from foreign practice. But it will be very difficult to find someone who will do anything similar here.

EXPECTATION IS REALITY

2. Attack designers who say, “Yes, yes, I’ll do exactly the same thing, but three times cheaper!”

This is the most common mistake of gullible brides. If a specialist promises you to do a luxurious design for pennies, you should not rejoice, but run. For you will be severely disappointed when on your wedding day you see not even a pale imitation of your beautiful pictures, but something completely different and absolutely unattractive. Believe me, I have read many angry reviews of such brides who hoped for a miracle. There are no miracles.

EXPECTATION IS REALITY

The situation with a small budget for decor is by no means a dead end. You just need to set your priorities correctly and - most importantly! - trust only competent specialists. Then the result will please you doubly: because it turned out beautifully and because it was budget-friendly. ;)

Our fabrics are always clean and pressed for a perfect impression.

We carefully check the condition of fabrics and wash them after each order. We always bring a steamer to the site and iron the material after installation, since we know very well that even pre-ironed fabric can wrinkle during transportation, and this is unacceptable for us, especially at such a special event as a wedding. You can be sure that the backdrop behind your back will look perfect in your wedding photos.

Comparative characteristics

You can buy ready-made solutions for decorating events, you can order the necessary elements to be made by craftsmen, you can rent or create the decoration yourself. To help you objectively choose which solution is best for you, please refer to the summary table

Decorating the background for the newlyweds - a fabric backdrop for a wedding.

We are able to solve technically complex problems - your idea will be realized

Decorating a backdrop for a wedding is not always easy. Once, in a hall for 500 people, our specialists had to make a huge backdrop measuring 4.5 meters high by 5 meters wide with a canopy protruding forward 2 meters. And all this is on the podium. Here our skills and abilities to work at heights, as well as the use of proven installation and fastening techniques, came in handy. The wedding in the European banquet hall was held at the highest level, the newlyweds and their guests were impressed for a long time.

Wooden screen for a wedding

A wooden carved screen looks absolutely stunning, adds sophistication and lightness to any room , and therefore will attract admiring glances from those present throughout the wedding event. Many newlyweds deliberately prefer wooden models to plastic or fabric ones: naturalness and openwork serve as an effective addition to any interior composition, such backdrops are stable and look expensive, luxurious and stylish.

Photo of a wedding screen made of wood

If you have certain skills and professional skills in working with wood or plywood, then you can make a wooden screen with your own hands - it is important to follow the principles of stability, safety, not to make the backdrop too heavy and think in advance about the number of sections (optional) and the ease of folding and installing the backdrop.

Wooden screens are especially recommended for wedding events in ethnic or rustic style: such backdrops can be made in the form of a rustic fence, decorated with greenery and flowers
