So, in the registry office you can register not only marriage, but also other events: the birth of a child; establishing paternity; adoption; change of name, etc. And in the Wedding Palace, only marriage registration is possible, which is the focus of the entire work of the establishment. Also, it is in the Wedding Palaces that the ceremony is held more solemnly and in more beautiful interiors.
And not many people know, but you can register a marriage at one of the sites in Moscow that provide this service. Whatever method of submitting an application (electronic or in person) you choose, the data and rules for filling out are the same everywhere. Form No. 7 of the application requires the following data:
— Personal data of each applicant: full name; date and place of birth (as indicated in the passport); citizenship; place of residence (not to be confused with registration); Family status; optionally indicate nationality, education and number of common children
— Identity document and its details;
— Name and details of the document confirming the termination of the previous marriage (if any);

How long will the review take?
By law, the application is required to be considered within 30 calendar days. It may be increased to 60 days in case of high load on a particular institution.
All other options, both increasing the period to six months and decreasing it, are exceptions. In the first case, you reserve the date and working hours of the registry office, and your application lies and awaits the due date for consideration; in the second, documents are required confirming the possibility of emergency marriage registration.
Required documents
The list of mandatory documents required to register a marriage is very small:
— completed application;
- passports of future spouses.
When submitting an application through State Services, the passport data will already be in the system, but of course they are necessary for the registration itself!
In special cases, additional documents will be required:
— a document confirming that the previous marriage was dissolved (for those who are registering a marriage not for the first time);
— permission to marry (for minors under 18 years of age);
— if one of the future spouses is a foreigner, then a notarized translation of all documents will be required, as well as a certificate of his marital status in any case.
If a girl changes her last name after marriage, then she is given 30 days to change all documents, during which documents with the old last name will still be valid.
If the ceremony is not solemn
For registration in a non-ceremonial setting, the same rules and deadlines apply as for a standard ceremony. However, the procedure itself takes a maximum of 5 minutes, because the whole process consists of affixing signatures and issuing a certificate.
Usually the date of a non-celebratory wedding is set for Wednesday or Tuesday. In this case, you don’t have to worry about queues. Therefore, if the first place for future spouses is the speed of the process, then this option will be optimal. The maximum period that you need to wait will be no more than 30 days.
Types of ceremonies
There are two main types of ceremony when registering a marriage: solemn and ordinary. Voice your choice to the employee who accepts the documents or mark it in the appropriate field in the electronic application.
Regular registration is when you simply sign and receive stamps in your passports in a separate office of the registry office without guests and a formal atmosphere.

Which registration to choose
Regardless of the choice of registration, each of them has the same legal force before the state.
Solemn
In Russian cities, it is possible to hold a ceremony only two days a week - Friday or Saturday. The registry office staff recommend inviting no more than twenty people as guests. Everything, of course, will depend on the size of the hall; sometimes more is allowed, and sometimes less.
Do not be late under any circumstances, because you are not alone and there will probably be other people following you. It’s better to arrive even a little earlier and spend this time on a photo shoot.
At the appointed time, you will be met by a special person who will need to give your passports and rings. Most often, such issues are dealt with by witnesses.
When it’s your turn, guests, a photographer and a cameraman, if any, will be invited into the hall first, and then you. The future spouses walk in to Mendelssohn's waltz. The employee will read a solemn speech and ask about your consent to get married, after the cherished “Yes” you need to sign the marriage registration certificate, then you will exchange rings and kiss to applause. Registration in a short time
Sometimes the period can be reduced from 30 to 1-5 days, but a good reason is needed for the registry office to take this measure.

Here are the most common reasons:
- If the bride is pregnant , she can bring a certificate from her gynecologist - then they will sign it on the same day. This document is issued on a special form with the signature and seal of the doctor. But remember that the pregnancy must be at least 2 months old.
- If future spouses have a child together , this is also a serious reason to speed up the marriage registration procedure.
- There is a high risk that one of the spouses will die (for example, serving in a hot spot);
- A long business trip is planned (for example, a consul or minister is sent to another country for several years)
Also, registry office employees go to meet future spouses if one of them has a serious illness that threatens life. In this case, you will need a doctor's certificate with a diagnosis. If it is not possible to deliver the patient to the registry office, then on-site registration can be carried out. You don't have to pay more for urgency.
How long to wait during pregnancy
If you decide to sign while the bride is pregnant, you may be able to speed up the registration date so you don't have to wait 30 days. If the period is more than 8 months, then the registrar has the right to marry you on this or the next day.
But you must bring a doctor's certificate confirming the duration of your pregnancy. Make a notarized copy to give to the registry office employee. The certificate must indicate:
- Document Number;
- Full name of the bride;
- Name of the hospital;
- Bride's age;
- A doctor’s conclusion, with the obligatory indication of the gestational age;
