Autumn wedding bouquet for the bride: options, photos, how to make it yourself

Autumn is a wonderful time, captivating with bright colors. The natural palette at this time is especially rich in tints - red, crimson-red, noble burgundy, sunny yellow, warm brown, calm and delicate beige... You will never see such a variety of shades in any season. Registration during this period has every chance of being unforgettable, you just need to use your imagination a little. In our article we will talk about how to make a delicate autumn wedding bouquet for the bride; in the photo we will show examples of ready-made compositions.

General information: what to do before choosing

In order for the wedding celebration to take place at the highest level, you need to think through all the details in advance. The groom's boutonniere and the floral ensemble in the hands of the future wife are an integral part of the chosen concept of the festive events. These ceremonial elements are selected at the final stage of preparation, when the main components have already been selected and the specifics of the wedding have been taken into account.

  • The bouquet of the future wife should be combined with the stylistic image of the couple. The autumn riot of colors is well suited for celebrations in the style of “Retro”, “Provence”, “Country”, “Halloween” and many others. If you choose the classic option, then it is appropriate to dilute the floral ensemble with seasonal gifts of nature - they will become a bright accent of the entire evening.
  • Be sure to decide on the shape of the future bundle. The easiest way is to make a standard spherical bouquet. It will perfectly emphasize the splendor of the dress of an elegant girl of short stature. The “cascade” type will look better in the hands of a tall and slender lady in a tight-fitting outfit. The asymmetrical composition is suitable for any woman, it is universal, attracts the eyes of guests with its miniature and voluminous components of buds, berries and fir cones.
  • One of the main rules is that the more luxurious the dress, the more modest the bouquet must be, and, accordingly, vice versa.
  • Add rare inflorescences to the bunch, but find out their meaning in advance; sometimes it happens that they are not suitable for this kind of holiday.
  • Clearly think through all the components of the ensemble and their color. The latter is better to choose according to the season. So, in September, give preference to yellow, in October and November - burgundy and violet-red.
  • The set of plants should not emit a strong fragrant aroma, otherwise the girl who will wear it throughout the celebration will become “uneasy.”

Autumn inflorescences

A bride's wedding bouquet in the fall can include a variety of buds. Below we will look at the most popular ones.

  • Roses - a traditional wedding ceremony is rarely complete without them. Many ladies love them for their graceful beauty, aristocracy, and delicate scent. A composition in an orange-yellow style may well be based on this plant - just dilute it with wheat ears, rowan berries, rose hips or viburnum, pine cones and maple leaves.
  • Asters and chrysanthemums are the most popular in autumn. You can use the entire color gamut of these noble plants - from snow-white and lilac, to soft pink, beige and other shades.
  • Zinnia - the colorful balls of this representative of the flora can be either variegated or plain, so they can be perfectly combined with other crops.
  • Gerberas look expensive and stylish. The composition can have several varieties at once. They are a symbol of success, financial prosperity and well-being of family life.
  • Hydrangea - the variety of its buds will delight even the most demanding girl. Symbolizes purity of thoughts, respect, humility and devotion. The only drawback is the strongly scented aroma.
  • Sunflowers are a sign of fertility, wealth and abundance in the newlyweds' home. If you make a mono-bouquet of miniature ornamental plants, slightly diluting them with sunny yellow chrysanthemums and daisies, you will get a real wedding decoration.
  • Dahlias are a symbol of gratitude and happiness. Half-opened inflorescences look unsurpassed in combination with other flowers.
  • Marigolds and calendula are crops that are associated with warm September days. Despite their simplicity, they symbolize fiery passion in relationships.

Of the non-standard options, ranunculus, amaranth, protea, celosia, and crocosmia are suitable for an autumn bridal bouquet for a wedding.

Fortune Teller

It is believed that a bouquet made of two flowers has good energy and brings good luck. The combination of white and gold promises the newlyweds a life of prosperity and love. Tamara Solntseva

A mono-bouquet can be composed of roses or calla lilies in white and gold. Since these flowers do not have a natural golden hue, they can be made in two ways:

  • paint the buds with a special golden-colored floral paint;
  • use artificial flowers in combination with fresh flowers.

Only white callas can be used in the composition, but then gilded leaves must be placed between the flowers. If desired, a gold-colored bride's bouquet can be made from fabric, paper or beads.

Fruits of autumn

In addition to bright buds, fruits, berries, mini-vegetables, nuts and other gifts of nature can be used in a festive composition. The golden time is the time of harvest, so natural ingredients are used everywhere. Ensembles with rose hips, rowan berries, viburnum, formal roses, asters or chrysanthemums look very extravagant and fresh.

When developing the concept of a future bouquet, do not forget about the colorful leaves of trees and shrubs. They are able to highlight the event favorably and will be remembered by both guests and newlyweds. Cereal spikelets and fir cones also performed well; opened specimens of the latter will help realize even the most daring ideas of the florist.

Master class on making a bouquet with “golden” flowers

In order to make a golden composition we take:

  • microvoile fabric;
  • glass;
  • cardboard template 8 cm * 8 cm;
  • soldering iron;
  • threads;
  • a needle;
  • a foam hemisphere with a diameter of 9.5 cm;
  • PVC plumbing pipe with a diameter of 2 cm and a length of 15 cm;
  • decorative ribbons;
  • lace;
  • felt;
  • hot glue;
  • wire;
  • organza;
  • scissors;
  • decorative pins;
  • ribbon made of beaded flowers.

Step-by-step instructions for making a golden composition:

Place a piece of fabric on the glass or tile. We apply the template to the fabric and cut out 32 squares with a soldering iron.

We begin to make two types of petals. First: fold the square of fabric in half, bend one corner into the middle and use a thread to pull the outer corner to the center. We do the same on the other side. Fasten the thread and cut it. Second petal: fold the fabric in the same way, but do not tighten the thread completely so that several small folds are formed. We make 14 petals of the first type, 18 of the second.

We collect a rose from the petals. We take a small petal, roll it up and sew it together so that it does not unravel. This will be the middle of the bud. We wrap the next petals around the center and sew them on. After all the small petals have been sewn on, we begin to attach the large ones. For a bouquet you will need 17 buds.

We make 4 holes in the plastic pipe at the same level and pull two ribbons through them using wire. We cut out a recess for the pipe in the foam hemisphere.

We decorate the stem of the bouquet with a satin ribbon. Cut two small pieces of tape and glue them, covering the bottom. Glue the tip of the tape to the base and wrap it around the pipe.

Glue the handle to the foam and secure it with tape.

Cut a circle of felt with a diameter of 9.5 cm with a hole in the center and glue it to the bottom of the foam base.

Take a piece of lace 60 cm long and assemble it with an accordion on a needle and thread.

Glue the assembled lace to the edge of the foam base.

Fold the organza in half and assemble it with an accordion. Glue the assembled ribbon to the bottom of the base, covering the edges of the lace.

Glue a piece of lace to the top and bottom of the handle.

We close the voids in the bottom of the base with organza and make flowers from it. Fold the ribbon in half and assemble it with an accordion on a thread. We twist the assembled ribbon into a bud, sew it on and glue it to the felt, as shown in the photo.

We begin to collect flowers. We glue the buds to the foam and stick a decorative pin into the core. We attach the flowers to the base in levels. When the central flower and one level are glued, take the organza, assemble it with an accordion and glue it in a circle above the lace. We continue gluing the buds to the base.

We take a decorative ribbon of beaded flowers and decorate the stem of the bouquet with it on top of the satin ribbon. Glue them strictly along one vertical line.

Between the flowers and the lace under the buds we glue artificial leaves, which will refresh the bouquet and imitate the natural look.

Take a piece of lace 20 cm long, fold the edges into the middle, compress the center, and sew it together. Glue the resulting bow to the handle of the bouquet. Glue a brooch to the middle of the bow on the handle.

Palette

A feature of the autumn version of the bride’s bouquet (pictured) is its multicolor, extraordinary and expressive nature. As a rule, greens are used minimally. Most often, the overall background is diluted with acorns, sunny golden leaves and multi-colored ribbons. Among the warm shades, the following predominate:

  • crimson red;
  • deep orange;
  • sand;
  • pomegranate;
  • gold;
  • chocolate;
  • terracotta and others.

The cold range is presented:

  • lilac;
  • pale pink;
  • silver;
  • deep purple.

The choice of palette mainly depends on the overall decor of the celebration and the personal preferences of the newlyweds.

Materials

To create a unique holiday bouquet, various, sometimes unexpected, items are used:

  • acorns, sprigs of physalis and rose hips - they will fit perfectly into the country, rustic, boho or ethnic trends;
  • autumn buds, foliage of bushes and trees, birch, maple, pear and many other leaves will help to assemble an original bunch. They combine perfectly with dahlias, snow-white callas and roses;
  • dried stalks of cereals, herbs and various twigs - will perfectly dilute any ensemble, adding some zest to it;
  • bunches of beautiful grapes - can add charm to a traditional floral set;
  • mini pumpkins, hawthorn berries, apples are one of the main components for a master decorator.

Compilation rules

When designing a bouquet for the bride, special attention should be paid to the size of the buds. The main thing is that the geometric shape of the ligament should not be too voluminous. It is important to understand that the brighter the flower, the visually larger the composition appears. Quite large crops, such as callas, roses or gerberas, are diluted with exclusive components - maple leaves, spikelets of cereals and twigs of other plants. You also need to consider the following.

Ceremony style

When composing a floral ensemble, you must first of all start from the general stylistic direction of the celebration.

  • For an event in boho or rustic style, miniature buds are selected. It is important that the ceremonial attribute is of the correct shape.
  • If this is a classic wedding, then snow-white callas decorated with bright ribbons would be appropriate.
  • For shabby chic, the best solution would be ranunculus or medium-sized roses. The spherical composition is complemented with sparkles, lace edging and ribbons.

Girl figure

Many florists, when creating their masterpieces, take into account the physique and height of the bride:

  • small drop-shaped inflorescences are suitable for fragile ladies. It is better to avoid bulky options with a diameter of more than 35 cm;
  • to appear slimmer, you should give preference to the cascade shape, using large buds;
  • It is more profitable for tall women to choose flowing ensembles that harmoniously combine both miniature and voluminous flowers.

Composition form

Like classic neutral bouquets, autumn bouquets should not be very lush, otherwise the bride will “get lost.” If you want to use large flowers, such as peony roses, sunflowers or gerberas, take no more than 3-5 of them. You can dilute the composition with smaller inflorescences or stylish decor (more on that below).

The best options for forms for autumn compositions:

  • cascade - falling in the form of a waterfall, an inverted drop;
  • vegetative – minimum artificial decoration, maximum naturalness
  • the basket is very convenient;
  • fan - a wire frame in the form of a fan, which is filled with flowers and decor;
  • structural - a volumetric asymmetrical composition of large and small flowers.

Geometry

The visual perception of a composition largely depends on its shape. Below we will look at the features of the most popular options.

  • Hemisphere - impresses with a traditional wedding dress. Plants are mounted on a frame or disk. Roses look good.
  • Ball - inflorescences of various shapes and sizes are alternately attached to a wire structure. With the right approach, such a product will delight you for a long time with its elegant appearance and stability.
  • The basket is easy to transport and can accommodate crops of different sizes.
  • The fan fits comfortably in a gentle woman’s hand. The bouquet is decorated with lace, beads, rhinestones, feathers and other decorative elements.
  • Asymmetrical - despite the diversity of miniature and large plants, it looks extraordinary, but impressive.
  • Ruffled - looks very much like the usual knitting of meadow flowers. It is one of the most popular options for ethnic and boho styles.
  • Tussy-moussy is a cone-shaped composition originally from cozy France. Perfect for a tight-fitting outfit.
  • Cascade - its main components are crops with elongated stems. Ideal for events in any format.
  • Biedermeier - an ensemble in which the buds are placed in rings.
  • The scepter is a vertical plant-based bundle with long legs. Visually similar to a wand. It can advantageously emphasize a girl’s sophisticated silhouette.

What weddings is golden suitable for?

Choosing a wedding event concept is an important stage in preparation. The golden tone is not suitable for all ceremonies. It is appropriate for retro weddings, which are biased towards the end of the 19th century. Gold on this occasion characterizes antique jewelry. White is chosen as an adjacent complementary shade. That's why brides prefer white and gold bouquets. It is important to combine the tone of the colors and the overall design in the room.

For weddings with a royal theme, gold is ideal.

The sunny shade is combined with ivory and white. The decoration of the hall contains a main and additional tone, and the flowers are collected in a golden mono-bouquet of a round shape.

TOP options

Below are the most popular variations of wedding bouquets for warm golden autumn.

Tenderness and romance

A traditional ensemble of delicate ranunculus or elegant roses can be complemented with orange-red leaves, bright silk ribbons and natural decorative elements. The overall background of the product should emit warm shades - from simple beige to crimson red. If we talk about geometry, then a slightly disheveled, natural shape is most suitable here.

Relaxed rustic

Autumn is the time for cereals and dried flowers, so feel free to use them in your creations. A rustic bouquet made from orange-red maple foliage will look beautiful. Focus on spruce branches, berries or natural cotton. These components, not very expressive at first glance, will help create a masterpiece of indescribable beauty.

Atmospheric boho

The composition in this stylistic direction can be very diverse in composition and volume. The abundance of materials does not limit the flight of the florist’s imagination. Feel free to use pomegranate fruits, anthurium, protea, decorative feathers, pampas grass, dried branches and other ingredients.

Cosiness

Rich orange shades, tints of ocher, and coffee-with-milk colors are ideal for a warm autumn ensemble. It is better to make the bundle miniature and neat than too pretentious or strict. As decoration, use silk or satin ribbons of contrasting colors, bunches of rowan berries, succulents, acorns, pine cones and even small fruits, such as tangerines, figs, grapes.

Photo selection

Autumn is exactly that time of year when there is an opportunity to make the celebration unforgettable for both guests and newlyweds. Having such a rich palette at hand, you can come up with an original solution. Don’t be afraid to use several plants at once, the main thing is that they are harmoniously combined, complementing each other with the necessary tints. For buds, take classic white roses, chrysanthemums, dahlias, gerberas, asters and any other crops that will highlight the individual style of the event. Below are colorful photographs that will help you find inspiration and ideas for your masterpieces of floral art.

Image of a girl

The bride's dress must be long, perhaps with a train, made from expensive fabric. The color can be beige, gold or classic white. A beige or white dress should have golden elements, this could be a belt, inserts or patterns on the dress, a bodice embroidered with sequins or gold beads. A veil with golden lace, hairpins or tiaras of golden color are suitable as accessories. Instead of a veil, you can wear a hat with gold feathers.

If the choice fell on a gold dress, then you should select the shade based on the type of appearance of the bride. A rich shade is suitable for girls with dark skin and dark hair, and a light golden shade should be chosen by girls with fair skin and blond hair.

In a dress made of gold brocade or with sequins, the bride will look like a true queen. A dress with embroidery or rhinestones will add glamor and chic. You shouldn’t overload your look with gold accessories; just choose shoes that match the color of the dress and small jewelry, such as stud earrings, a chain and a ring. Makeup is best done in calm, warm beige or peach tones, focusing on the eyes.
