There was no limit to my delight when my name was on the list of authors of this blog. And finally! Leaving everything behind, I am writing here.
My article, of course, is dedicated to weddings, where would we be without them, and specifically to bridesmaids, and even more specifically to bridesmaids’ accessories.
Actually, this is a Western tradition, like the tradition of girlfriends, but it’s beautiful, and if it’s beautiful, then you definitely need to think about where all this can be applied.
When I watched Hollywood films about teenagers, I saw a prom in almost every film. A girl is invited by a boy in love, come pick her up before the ball and Ah! with shaking hands he gives a box. I thought there was a flower there. Well, here’s a simple flower, this is how we used to sell orchids in boxes. But no! Everything turned out to be much more elegant. There is a tradition of a prom, and a young man who invited a classmate to the prom gives it to her, here opinions differ: some translate it as a boutonniere, others as a wrist corsage, but in fact it is a bracelet with fresh flowers. Cute? Charming!
Back to the wedding and the bridesmaids’ accessories, what does prom have to do with it, you ask, and I’ll answer, why not make such a flower bracelet for the bridesmaids?
A flower bracelet is an alternative to bridesmaids' bouquets, which has undeniable advantages: the girls' hands are free, suddenly in the process the bride needs to fix something, remove a curl of hair or take a glass of champagne, finally hug! And the free hands of your girlfriends can be used for other accessories.
Such a flower bracelet will cost less than a bouquet, which also speaks in its favor - after all, a wedding is not a cheap event. The bridesmaids can have one type of bracelets, and the bride has a more luxurious one. Original! Graceful! Elegantly!
These bracelets can be made using completely different materials: rhinestones, beads, feathers, braid. The corsage can be one flower, or maybe a mini bouquet. Flowers can be fresh, or they can be silk. The corsage can be attached to a ready-made bracelet, ribbon or lace. Everything is in your hands, wherever your imagination takes you.
You can order a corsage, or you can make it yourself.
DIY flower bracelet (first master class)
To make a flower bracelet with your own hands we will need:
- Flowers of your choice
- Pliers
- Wire (one skein thick, one skein thin)
- Tape tape
- Scissors
- Satin ribbon. (1 cm wide)
- Thermal gun
Step 1
We cut a thick wire the width of the wrist and use pliers to round its ends, then give the wire a rounded shape for the wrist and wrap the tape with tape. This will be the basis for the bracelet, the bracelet itself.
Step 2
Then, we prepare the flower. Take a thin wire and bend it into a loop so that you can pass it through the bud to the center of the stem.
Step 3
Leave about 7 cm of wire at the bud, cut off the rest, and twist the wire. Wrap the wire with tape.
Step 4
The flower is ready. If we use several flowers, twist their stems and wires together. Now let’s connect it to the base: holding the bud with one hand, and forcefully rotating it around the base of the bracelet with the other hand.
Step 5
Now we decorate the base of the bracelet with a satin ribbon, wrapping it around the bracelet. Where required, you can drip hot glue.
We enjoy the result!
Weaving from laces - patterns for beginners
There are many techniques. Creating original and spectacular jewelry, craftsmen use a variety of designs, simple and complex. At the same time, many original things can be obtained using only a few basic schemes. Therefore, for those who are trying to create jewelry for the first time, it is better to start with the simplest types. And they turn out no less attractive.
- Advice: it is better to first try weaving floss from twisted threads, and then start weaving knots from cords.
How to make a wedding bracelet from fresh flowers with your own hands (second master class)
To make a bracelet from fresh flowers you will need:
- Flowers to choose from
- Pliers
- Thin wire
- Tape tape
- Scissors
- A wide satin ribbon, about a meter long (depending on how big the bow you want to get in the end)
- Thermal gun
The first steps of this method are very similar to method 1.
Step 1
Choosing fresh flowers for the bracelet. It is preferable to use three flowers to decorate your wrist, although if you want to be fashionable and modern, one large and bright flower will do!
Step 2
Just like in the first method, we pierce the buds with a wire loop.
Step 3
If we are using several flowers in a bracelet, we form them into small bouquets and twist the wire together. The wire must be wrapped with tape.
Step 4
A fundamental difference from the previous master class! We take a wide satin ribbon, make a hole in it, thread the flower stems through the hole and attach them to the ribbon with hot glue. We wait until it dries and cover the attachment point with a piece of tape, also using a heat gun.
Take the bracelet and tie it with a beautiful bow on your wrist, voila, you are beautiful!
Advantages and disadvantages
An elegant bracelet on the hand of a bridesmaid is beautiful and delicate. The accessory is made from different materials: from fresh and artificial flowers, to beads, ribbons, berries and seashells.
A wedding accessory has its pros and cons , and they are often associated with the quality of the work performed and the materials used. If fresh flowers were used for production, the period during which it will look presentable is 4-6 hours .
Flower bracelet on hand (third master class)
To make your own flower bracelet you will need:
- Flowers of your choice
- Tape tape
- Scissors
- Special attachment for corsage
As for the special fastening, I tried and managed to make a buckle from a plastic bottle using a knife marker and a hole punch, the bottle is very well rounded, then I wiped off the marker with alcohol, and you can thread a regular ribbon into the buckle, or you can sew two ribbons together and insert them inside thin wire for flexibility.
Step 1
Let's start by preparing the flowers, as in MK 1 and 2. Take a rose and cut the stem about 1 cm from the bud. Here there is a difference from previous master classes, we do not pierce the bud from above, the wire passes through the stem cross to cross and we immediately wrap the tape with tape.
Step 2
You will need leaves to decorate the flower bracelet. We make a small stitch with wire just above the middle of the leaf, run the wire along the leaf and twist it at the stem. We wrap the tape with tape.
Step 3
We group small flowers into small bouquets, secure them with wire and tape again!
Step 4
We form a flower bracelet and wrap it with tape.
Step 5
We attach the bracelet to the buckle, pulling it through the round holes and twisting the wire from the outside. We give the bracelet the desired shape, this is easy to do thanks to the flexible wire. You can add flowers and feathers to the bracelet, also treated with wire and tape.
Step 6
We pull the ribbon through the buckle. The flower bracelet is ready!
Here are three ways to make a floral corsage for the bridesmaids and the hero of the occasion. Look how beautifully it can sometimes be combined with the simplest colors!
Benefits of using accessories
Bracelets for witnesses are original and beautiful hand decorations that have the following advantages :
- this is a convenient accessory that, unlike a flower bouquet, allows you to free your hands, which is extremely comfortable and practical;
- a bracelet for bridesmaids for a wedding shows which of the girls is single;
- the products gently emphasize the femininity of the witnesses, without distracting the attention of those present from the young woman;
- You can make jewelry yourself without spending extra money on buying ready-made accessories;
- the bracelet can be left as a keepsake, as a reminder of a significant event.
Ribbons, flowers, foamiran, feathers, polymer clay are suitable for making accessories . It is enough to choose the material and color that will most harmoniously fit into the overall style of the holiday, and you can get to work.

So, the resin has thickened, the petals are laid out on a surface covered with tape, and we begin to create. We take our fighting stick, dip the tip in resin and apply a drop to the petal.
In principle, you can smear it over it, holding the leaf with your finger (with latex gloves so that there are no greasy marks left), but it spreads quite well on its own. Here you will check how level your table is. Having covered all the prepared petals with the first layer of resin, cover our miracle tray with a lid and leave it all for 24 hours. Then we apply another layer of resin (for now both layers are on the front part).
After a day, we turn the petals over and apply the last layer, but on the back sides of our products.
Interpretation of colors
When planning to give someone a handmade bracelet, you should not neglect traditions. We invite you to find out what these or those colors in the baubles mean:
- White is the color of innocence, wisdom, and new beginnings.
- Red is a symbol of passion and love, helped in protection from negativity and the evil eye.
- Yellow and orange were woven into the bauble to improve mood and attract fortune to one’s side.
- Pink is the shade of a romantic personality.
- Black and gray tones are a symbol of independence and modesty.
- Shades of blue were intended to achieve inner harmony, indicate a connection with nature, symbolize friendship, kindness and wisdom.
- Brown is a symbol of stability, prosperity, support from loved ones.
- Purple was woven in to emphasize a person’s abilities in the arts, magic, and to denote an extraordinary personality.
The closest friends were given the so-called rainbow - a bracelet symbolizing soul kinship, joy, and the desire to live life to the fullest.
You can use symbolism and combine colors, giving them a certain meaning, the main thing is that the resulting product pleases its owner.
Turning
Now these shapeless epoxy blots with petals inside need to be processed.
It's time to uncover our mini drill. Attach an emery attachment to it and sharpen the jewelry (with a shudder I remember how I sharpened them by hand with a nail file). Keep the edge of the product perpendicular to the drill. After turning, you can coat the edges of the products with varnish or do another fill.
If you are satisfied with the resulting decoration, make holes for attaching rings. We make holes with the same drill, but with a drill (diameter 0.5 mm).
In general, we have done the most difficult work, now all that remains is to attach the fittings. We thread a ring into the drilled hole and a wire into it. Our earrings made from real flower petals are ready!
